i want to start a set of trucks that serves amazing coffee, breakfast sandwiches, & tacos in the morning, then transforms into a margarita truck at night. it can be at the right place at the right time & you can always see it’s real time location in a web app. e.g. - outside office buildings & school dropoffs at 8am. - near parks & gyms at noon. - outside apartment complexes at 6pm. - it can be a at festivals, concerts, & events. basically an ice cream truck for adults. instead of making people come to the business, the business comes to them. why hasn’t this been done already?

From one Catholic to another: If a friend asked you why you’re still Catholic in 2026, what would you say in one line? Me: The Eucharist

@DanLaChapelle @MoundLore Came here to say this. The heart of American manufacturing, builders who defined the "freedom of the open road", companies that defined American muscle and (inadvertently) showcased the power of collective bargaining all came from a place no one now dreams of finding themselves

@dezgoldie Life is a volume game but also a quality game. We should measure ourselves by number of quality shots on goal, otherwise we give credit for half court Hail Mary's when we should have learned to dribble first

You gotta be putting like 10x shots on net compared to what you’re currently doing. Most people take one shot every few years. To run up the score you should be putting up 2-3 shots a day minimum. At the end of each year you’ve shot thousands of shots while most people did nothing. It’s a numbers game. Your shooting percentage can be horrible and you’ll still lap everyone. Gotta score to win. Gotta shoot to score. Shoot more.

Turns out, waking up early, hitting the gym, eating clean, calling the friend you miss, telling that girl that she is pretty, going on long walks, drinking good coffee, smoking a cigarette after drinks with the boys, and having eccentric hobbies really fixes everything.

@NathanCRoth There has to be some level of learned shame in not being an elite professional that comes with it as well. "I have to succeed, I'm Ivy League! What would the other says if I don't?"

ivy league grads are 0.5% of the population and more than 12 percent of all Fortune 500 CEOs, 32 percent of all New York Times journalists, and 13 percent of the wealthiest 0.1 percent of the population. everyone assumes it's the teaching. it isn't. an economics professor at Dartmouth said he doesn't think there's a big difference between Ivy Plus professors and professors at other universities. i went to columbia. the headline professors mostly handed class off to TAs. everyone's second guess is the network. also wrong on the timing. salary gaps between ivy and non-ivy grads widen over the career, not at graduation, which is exactly when prestige should matter most. the real driver is the opportunity to learn how to succeed in an environment filled with the world's most talented and ambitious people. concentration of drive. you absorb the bar by sitting next to it.
