Yeah and a country where 15 people got gunned down on a beach in broad daylight, 6 people were stabbed to death in a mall, and about a dozen people have been attacked by machetes all in the last 12 months is the literal opposite of what OP is describing.
I'm from Sydney. You definitely cannot walk safely "anywhere at anytime" lol

In Tokyo, Japan you can walk around markets like this with hordes of people and never once feel any type of danger for your kids or family.
