He laid a wreath at Bayonet Square and reviewed the Guard of Honour at #ANC, India’s only Joint Services Command. Swift and coordinated response by #IndianCoastGuard Station Mayabunder under #ANC, in synergy with PMF, Forest officials and local fishermen, ensured rescue of all seven occupants of a Pawan Hans helicopter that crashed at sea on 24 Feb 26, just before landing at Mayabunder Helipad, North Andaman. Two crew and five passengers, including three women and a five-month-old infant, were safely evacuated, medically examined and shifted to Government Hospital, Mayabunder. Acting on specific intelligence received of likely poaching activity, HQ ANC enhanced surveillance in Northern Andaman Sea. ICGS C-414 under #ANC swiftly evacuated an 8-month-old infant from remote Afra Bay, Great Nicobar Island to Campbell Bay on 18 Feb on request of local administration. With limited medical facilities in the area, the critically ill child required immediate transfer for specialised treatment.
