@islanders_takes Both can be true. It was an awful sequence that deserved to be called out. The pp has been awful for years. Does Roy have input on who his pp coach is? Watching that game you see how far they are from a top team.

#isles Haven't agreed with this account much this year but this stuck out to me, too. The PP went 0/8 and Tsyplakov was one of the better players on the ice by the sniff test and shot share but we're going to harp on that sequence. Meanwhile, Engvall continues to be doghoused and dogpiled on in media interviews despite Casey Cizikas having a brutal season so far, Fasching being super meh, and our entire Bottom 6 being mostly in disarray. I said it before with Lane and I'll say it again with Roy - when your special teams are so bad sooner or later you can't avoid putting heaps of blame on the coach.

#isles It's time to start selling pieces and looking to change the energy. And probably time to clean house in the coaching staff top to bottom from the big club to bridgeport and trying to do something different. Hogburn is playing well. George is playing well. A handful of others are playing well. But too many aren't and even when they do something feels off. The Hog is having a very nice night and will be above .900 which is all you want on a backup tender facing 40 SOG. I don't think you can replace Nelson or Palmieri. But I think you have to move them anyway on expirings with this team just caught in a funk despite being healthy.
