The session-wise discussions revealed: 1️⃣ India's heat pump market remains massively underleveraged with 45% of industrial thermal demand addressable today, yet penetration below 4%, the opportunity is hiding in plain sight. 2️⃣ The techno-economic and climate benefits of heat pump technology are already proven, but an import-dependence of component supply chain remains the single biggest barrier to adoption. 3️⃣ While residential and commercial heat pump space and water heating applications are already proven, the focus must now shift to industrial heat recovery with policy and standards urgently needing to catch up. 4️⃣ Without a credible certification framework for heat pump technology and de-risked financing, even the most viable technology like this cannot scale. Industrial safety in India remains a major problem. Every now and then, we hear news about major industrial accidents. In July, there was a factory blast in Telangana that killed more than 40 workers, and now we have this oleum gas leak. In 1985, the Oleum gas leak in Delhi prompted major reforms in environmental and factory laws and regulations. Four decades later, we now need to seriously revisit some of these laws and regulatory agencies.

Shri Jadav Saikia, IAS, Secreatary(Power), Government Of Assam , India said,"Currently, Assam has notified it's solar, PSP and thermal power generation policy in 2025 so that future clean energy transition becomes smooth and easy. Currently, 3 PSP projects are in progress of capacities more than 3000 MW capacity. Also Assam is successful in implementing PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojna with more than 91000 rooftops already targeted. It makes Assam 1st in NE and 10th in Iindia. New PV projects with more than 200 MW are in pipeline. Simultaneously, in the distribution sector ,current T&C losses have reduced to 14% as of 2023-2024.
