Last week’s Silver Jubilee ID@Borders and Future of Travel Conference 2026 was a resounding success. Thank you to our members, and all speakers and delegates for the insightful and trusted conversations on the future of border management.
Key highlights from this year’s conference included:
• Digital identity frontiers: Deep dives into the European Entry/Exit System (EES) rollout and operational milestones, alongside international perspectives from the World Bank and UIDAI
• Seamless travel in practice: Exploring the shift toward frictionless journeys through case studies like Japan’s Face Express and the practical implementation of Digital Travel Credentials (DTC) in Finland and the Netherlands
• Future security: Navigating the ‘brave new world’ of AI-assisted biometric checks, morph detection with NIST, and the upcoming go-live of Eurodac
The work we do is driven by the unique atmosphere of these events. As our CEO, Isabelle Moeller, observed, this is where barriers between the stage and audience break down and interaction flows freely. With no selling or advertising, these thought-provoking conversations allow us to collectively define what we need, where we will innovate, and how policy is working – or not working – in practice.
