@CoMomof3 @Sandiegohumor I came here to mention the contest. As a kid, I still remember going on the coaster while “die hard dan” went for his 197th ride that morning.

@Sandiegohumor I always think of Star radio’s roller coaster contest when those people had to ride it over and over all day and night. Someone should do a follow up on the contestants now and see if they had any long term effects 🎢

After six weeks of rehab, one of the most iconic structures in Mission Beach is back in business. The Giant Dipper roller coaster, one of San Diego's favorite amusement rides, has resumed operating at Belmont Park after being out of commission for a month and a half to have wood throughout the coaster's 100-year-old infrastructure replaced. "It went under a $1.6 million rehab," said Sarah Abelson, spokesperson for PE Management Group, which has owned Belmont Park since 2012.

@elonmusk @boringcompany Do it. Seeing those guys sit there with a straight face saying they need $126B to build it is insanity.

The @BoringCompany could build a Hyperloop tunnel from downtown SF to downtown LA for <5% of this cost and it would be a technological marvel exceeding any high speed rail on Earth

If you gave away $126 billion to subsidize free flights between LA and San Francisco at current demand levels, you could fund roughly 150 to 200 years of travel before the money runs out.

Life isn’t fair and it SHOULDN’T be.
When I chose to do fat and lazy things, I received fat and lazy results. I was huge and broke. I got EXACTLY what I deserved.
When I started doing things that fit and successful people do, I got those results as well.
This is life is what you make of it.
If you choose the path of least resistance you will spend your entire life fat, broke, and working for someone else’s dream.
We only get ONE SHOT at how we do this life.
I refuse to go through it upset and full of regrets.
Do. The. Same.

@Sandiegohumor SD is cool it’s just expensive af. Looking back on it, we didn’t know how good we had in the 90s.

Today is always a nostalgic day for me.
Six years ago, I walked out of a Nebraska prison with no clear idea where life would take me next. I knew driving with marijuana in my vehicle was illegal, and I made that decision anyway. It cost me—my freedom, and it caused real pain for my friends, my family, and especially my mother. Twenty-eight years of life led up to one bad decision that resulted in 18 months behind bars.
I’ve always believed God has a plan, and when I came home, I found myself stepping into a stock market that had just experienced the COVID crash. I had no experience, no real knowledge—just a willingness to learn. Nothing about the market felt scary. Every day felt like an opportunity. A chance to grow. A chance to change my life.
I never imagined success would come as quickly as it did.
I recently made a post about the mentors who helped me along the way, and I’ll always be grateful for the knowledge they shared. Through this journey, I’ve also met and built friendships with some incredible people. It’s honestly hard to put into words how grateful I am for everything this path has given me.
There are still days where I feel like I’ve been given more than I deserve. I can’t imagine my life without the market—the opportunities, the lessons, and the people it’s brought into my world.
I wish nothing but success for everyone reading this. No matter how hard life feels, you’re only a handful of good decisions away from changing it. Never quit. Never stop believing in yourself.
And I’m looking forward to the next six years—working alongside you, whether as a colleague or a mentor.

@TedHZhang Yeah they’re going to want three non-starters: control over the straight of Hormuz, unchecked nuclear/missles, and reparations.

@801010athlete Check out Bryson City if you get a chance. The Everette Hotel has a low key great local dinner.

BREAKING: Iran has demanded closure of US bases in the Gulf, end of all sanctions, end of Israeli campaign against Hezbollah and a framework that would allow it to collect fees from ships transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, as part of a response to Trump proposal, according to Wall Street Journal report.

@colin_gladman Yeah that is a bummer. At the highest level they don’t worry about probabilities. They have certainty.

It’s a club we just aren’t in, my friends.

BREAKING: Just five minutes before Trump's announcement to halt the attacks on Iran, massive trades reportedly hit the market. In one move, $1.5 billion in S&P 500 (ES) futures was bought while $192 million in oil (CL) futures was sold. These orders were 4–6x larger than anything else at the time. The trader seemingly made huge gains. Unusual.
