@boydy_73 I was going to suggest Jimmy Carr. Heard him in a few interviews and he seems on the level. Speaks plainly, and has a strong sense of right and wrong.

You’re an irrelevant, rather thick has-been and we will never communicate again (life too short). But before I banish you to social media irrelevance (at least as far as I’m concerned) when I hired Fraser Nelson to be Editor of The Spectator in 2009 Brexit was on almost nobody’s agenda, certainly not ours. We never discussed it at any stage. It just wasn’t an issue. When it certainly did become an issue, leading to the 2016 referendum, the decision to back Brexit was entirely that of Fraser and his team. I kept the proprietors out of it and my only advice to Fraser was, whatever side he decide to back, to make the endorsement compelling, informed and in the best traditions of The Spectator. By the way it was a genius appointment back in 2009, even if I say so myself. Under Fraser The Spectator enjoyed the highest circulation, reputation for excellence and profits in its almost 200-year-old history. Now Femi, bugger off and never bother me again.
Femi@Femi_sorry

@tiredobserver1 @afneil And who CHOSE the editor of the Spectator during the time when it was pumping out Pro-Brexit propaganda. I'll give you three guesses.

@AntwanTheWizard @44Rookie44 @travelingflying A balance sheet that none of us are responsible for, as much as it is desirable to project that guilt onto today's population, it is sheer presentism. You're judging past deeds by modern standards. Completely irrelevant

acceptance didn’t just “change,” material conditions did. abolition followed industrialization, slave revolts, and declining profitability, not a sudden moral awakening. britain and the u.s. outlawed the trade after extracting centuries of wealth, then enforced abolition on rivals to lock in advantage. morals came after the balance sheet shifted.

@AntwanTheWizard @44Rookie44 @travelingflying Slavery is bad. Agreed 💯 There must also be a recognition that the social acceptance of slavery changed circa 1806. The trade was widely accepted worldwide UNTIL the British and then the Americans outlawed it. For things to be better now, it often has to be bad to begin with

@44Rookie44 @travelingflying white people weren’t a hive mind, sure. but the atlantic slave trade was built, enforced, and defended by white european empires as an economic system. some whites suffering elsewhere doesn’t cancel who ran the machinery. abolition came after centuries of extraction, not before.

@HEMENDRABISHT3 @RupertLowe10 @RupertLowe10 made it very clear that the process won't be pleasant, it may be painful and it will definitely be difficult. If the status quo continues, however, it will be orders of magnitude more unpleasant, painful and difficult. Find the biggest responsibility and bear it

@RupertLowe10 “Mass deportation” is a slogan. The actual implementation would require legal upheaval, enormous fiscal cost, and systemic disruption. The feasibility question is more complex than the rhetoric suggests.

A fair few, including many on the so-called 'right' of British politics, have been throwing around the usual insults about the fact I said 'millions must go'. Let me respond with four words. GET USED TO IT. Restore Britain is not going to pussyfoot around. If you don't like it, unfollow me. I really don't care. The time for half-measures on immigration is SO far gone. It's over. It's done. That may have worked in 2010. It's 2026 and the barbarians are already in the gates. We will be unapologetic in our push for mass deportations - nobody can accuse me of being inconsistent on that. The other parties had to be pathetically dragged kicking and screaming to some mild deportation position. If you want the real authentic version, then join Restore Britain.

Democrats: “We can’t pass the SAVE Act because black folks don’t have ID.” Black folks: “No… we have ID… all of us…” Democrats: “Well… we can’t pass the SAVE Act because women who get married won’t have proper ID.” Married women: “No… we have ID that matches our new last name. Wasn’t an issue.” Democrats: “Well… we can’t pass the SAVE Act because poor people don’t have access to Kinkos.” Poor people: “Listen, we’re poor, but not *that* poor…” Democrats: “DAMMIT, YOU ALL WERE SUPPOSED TO FALL IN LINE!”

Yeah this is what law enforcement does to people who (1) obstruct justice (2) disobey law enforcement (3) flee police (4) attempt to leave the scene of a crime (5) drive so recklessly that they endanger everyone else on the road. Any combination of the above things could lead to this above scenario. Being female is not an exemption, either, nor is being white. THE MORE YOU KNOW.

I travelled on an @eduint trip to Palestine. But we never got there. We were detained for 5+ hours, grilled and refused entry by Israeli forces. It was intimidating and a violation of our rights. It is nothing compared to what Palestinians go through every day under occupation.

Yeah. We warned you. We warned you again & again. We have the receipts. Slow hand-clap to the TQ+ who fucked it all up in just 10 years. Slow hand-clap to Stonewall, GLAAD, & every other Alphabet Soup organisation. This is ENTIRELY on you.
