As per Para 11.5.7 page 297 of Select Committee Report on IT Bill 2025 @FinMinIndia apprised the Committee that exemption of Income Tax on Disability Pension will continue as the Honorable SC has ordered to “Maintain Status Quo”. Now in Para 108 D(6) of Finance Bill 2026 this exemption has been taken away from those Disabled Soldiers who Superannuated. Was the Committee misled? It is sad to see that a valiant effort by affected veterans to #KeepDisabilityPensionTaxFree on this platform has fallen flat over the last week. Most posts are by a handful of handles who've got little traction here. The few prominent handles that covered the issue have moved on

Much is being spread using exaggerated data about the so called MISUSE of disability clauses by soldiers. This narrative is misleading and deeply unfair. Stress of mil service has layers invisible to those who never worn uniform n cannot be assessed through armchair assumptions.
