⚠️ On Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, at about 6:30 p.m., one of our traffic officers observed a driver on Stoney Trail near Country Hills Boulevard N.W. with a cellphone placed on the steering wheel. The driver was issued a $300 distracted‑driving fine, along with a $486 ticket for an unsecure load.   As #DistractedDriving month continues on the Alberta Traffic Safety Calendar, we’re reminding Calgarians that drivers must keep their hands on the wheel & their attention on the road. Prohibited activities include: 🔴 Using handheld phones 🔴 Texting or emailing 🔴 Operating electronic devices, including programming a GPS 🔴 Reading printed material 🔴 Personal grooming   If you witness a driver who appears to be distracted, please call our non‑emergency line at 403‑266‑1234.
