Hey David, I'm Denise from the Community team at Figma. You can copy style properties using the keyboard shortcut (Press ⌥ Option + ⌘ Command + C (Mac) or Alt + Ctrl + C (Windows) then Select the target element and press ⌥ Option + ⌘ Command + V) or using the right-click menu > Copy/paste as > Copy properties. Right-click the target and choose Paste properties.

hey @figma hy can i not copy and paste properties across images, it just copies the image itself, it should copy stuff like sizing, layer effects etc, etc. but its basically useless as is?

Ehm, @figma, I updated my app this morning and my variables are now gone in the desktop app. I almost published an update to the library and I'm glad I reviewed the changes. It seems they're actually present when I open the file in the browser but entirely empty in the desktop app. I found out because I used use_figma to figure out how the variables were deleted.

Does anyone else constantly run into this with "Select Matching Layers" in @figma? I understand it has to do with layer names, but it feels like we can be smarter than that. It's essentially unusable with the way that I build/experiment

@DeniseFigma Just to be sure: the JPEG compression occurs when importing the JPEG into Figma, right? Because the exported JPEG and PNG looks exactly the same when I open them with Apple Preview or Sketch for example (same colors for both, and same colors as what I see in Figma before export).

My @figma file color profile is set to "Assign to Display P3". But when I export a frame (JPEG or PNG), some colors don't match between the original Figma frame and the exported file (see HSB values from Figma). Any idea why? And how I could get the exact same colors?

Hey there, I'm Denise from the Community team at Figma. This usually happens due to the JPEG compression. You can fix this by changing the document color profile to sRGB in preferences and setting the explicit export profile to sRGB as well. This should stop color desaturation or shifting for your JPEGs.

@figma @jamesm Actually, the issue doesn't seem to be the export, which seems correct if I inspect the colors of both files. But when I import into Figma an exported JPEG, the colors are different. If I import an exported PNG, colors are the same.

@joelnevius Glad to hear that, Joel! Figma relies on continuous background communication via Port 443 and WebSockets. Adding a new tab often creates new network routing demands that can be temporarily throttled or blocked by the VPN tunnel.

@figma Why does this happen all the time when I click to add a tab in Windows desktop app? I then click on the Home button, and go to the file I need...no issues. Internet is clearly not disconnected. And surely you don't have that many server issues. (version 126.3.12)

@DeniseFigma I’ve been using Figma for a decade now. Mobile app has always been bad. Never this terrible. Literally can’t use it This feels like one of those bureaucratic consensus decisions that was half assed. Truly a shame. I hope to see Figma pull out of this tailspin and thrive @zoink

This usually happens if they are flattened vectors, boolean group results, or special shapes (like instances) where certain constraints prevent editing. To fix this, you must select the specific vector points (Enter key) or use the corner radius fields in the Design panel.
