Today, I joined parents, advocates, & experts in Albany to advocate for continuous healthcare coverage for our youngest NYers to be included in the executive budget. My bill (S7747) w/ @votejgr aims to ensure coverage for children ages 0-6 w/o the need for yearly re-enrollment.

Bottom line: Millions of people, including many children, have lost Medicaid. Most still qualify for coverage.
They lose medication, hospital coverage and their doctors.
This is NOT ok. We need to fix it.

Providing $ to families has immediate positive impacts: it helps folks pay rent/utilities, put food on the table, & purchase the basics. Research has also shown these benefits for children last long into adulthood.

This is scary, folks.
85% of patients losing Medicaid in Arkansas were procedural denials. That means they still qualified for Medicaid. Many were children.
We simply must do better. In every state.

NEW: Arkansas has just released data on Medicaid terminations for 1st 2 months. 40% losing coverage are kids - very big 18% parents 39% expansion group A whopping 85% are procedural denials. This is exactly what we have feared.😢
