Senator @RickBrattin & Rep @JamieRayGragg are backing common-sense legislation for Missouri to seek a #SNAP waiver to ban soda & candy. SNAP should support nutrition—not sugar. #SNAPReform #MAHA

🚨 JUST IN - TRUMP ADMIN BANNING SODA/CANDY FROM FOOD STAMPS: "The number one purchase by SNAP recipients is sugary drinks. SNAP is a supplemental NUTRITION program...so they can afford NUTRITIOUS food essential to health and well-being."

@Jan49045Jes That is correct. I couldn't get it past committee. Had I got it to the house floor, I know it would have passed to the governors desk.

@JamieRayGragg - am I understanding this correctly? HB 1222 which would have banned candy and soda pop from SNAP & it failed to launch? Seriously? I work FT & can’t afford $13 for a 24 pack of pop!! We pay for it now and we’ll pay for it later under their healthcare expenses!!

Rep. Jamie Gragg attacks SNAP families for a 1% difference in soda purchases while promoting food pantries that distribute bags of candy with zero accountability.
The hypocrisy is staggering. #moleg @MOGOPCaucus @Right2WinOzarks @RINOhunter1776 @MOEdWatch

Missouri House Democrats at their best. "Vote like we tell you or you are punished". Rep. Terry cares about education and should be allowed to vote how she feels fit.

House democratic leadership has taken the committee assignments from Rep. Marlene Terry over her vote for the ESA program. It even led to a dust up in the members lounge tonight during session.

#MOHouse votes 109-32 to require that a baby who survives an attempted abortion must be given the same care as any other child born alive.
Thank you #MOLeg for stopping Missouri abortionists who claim Amendment 3 gives them the right to guarantee a dead baby!

PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday, HB927 passed UNANIMOUSLY out of the committee on Children and Families.
Ultimately, at the heart of this bill, it is not a father bill. It is a kids' bill. Our children are the biggest benefit from having dads in their lives.

@jonsipp78 @JoshHurlbert @MikeHenderso12 @SLUPoll Like you as a teacher, I put students first. As I have said all along, I will fight for students, parents, and teachers all day and every day over an institution. We have to do what it takes to help our students succeed. Taking these distractions/addictions away is just one way.
English

@JamieRayGragg @JoshHurlbert @MikeHenderso12 @SLUPoll So, why the need to point the finger at the district??? This issue, as others before, is just a rallying point for legislators to gain popularity without sustenance.
English

Finally, Missourians overwhelmingly supporting prohibiting cell phones during school instructional time. I carried this bill last year, but this year @JamieRayGragg and @MikeHenderso12 are leading the charge. @SLUPoll #moleg

English

@jonsipp78 @JoshHurlbert @MikeHenderso12 @SLUPoll Are these the same districts that pay teachers what they are worth before the legislator has to step in and force them to pay a minimum every so many years? And, thank you for being a student first teacher. We have soooo many, but you never get enough thanks and credit.
English

@JamieRayGragg @JoshHurlbert @MikeHenderso12 @SLUPoll As a teacher and parent, I very much put my students' needs first. That's why I chose the job I chose. I trust, however, that our school districts can make that policy on their own without legislation. I very rarely see parents making their children leave their phones at home.
