My message to @opensea on behalf of the entire NFT community 2.0 Dear OS, Let me begin with a phrase to learn and live by: No Good Deed Goes Unpunished Let me explain. You believed the rewards campaign was a good deed, and that the community would accept it without issue. But as we’ve seen, that didn’t happen. I understand the frustration. You gave out over 5 million in rewards, and the community still isn’t happy. I’ve been there, it’s tough to feel like your good intentions were met with backlash. But you have to understand the psychology of this space. Good deeds can’t have strings attached. Even when they don’t, execution still determines whether people embrace or reject them. Here’s what I would do moving forward: - Focus on $SEA, not rewards. - Lower your marketplace fee back to where it was. - End the idea that this is about rewards. - Hyper-focus on making $SEA a success. - You can still incentivize trading for $SEA. - And if you want to do a real good deed, operate the rewards program quietly. Don’t market it. Surprise your power users later with both their rewards and $SEA as a bonus. tut™
