Another inevitable revival is coming so calling it S3 feels counterproductive? Not that it matters, just a thought.

The biggest issue is that it was a) so soon afterwards, and b) isn't really explained, but anybody who seriously thought the Master was going to either stay good, or never show up again, doesn't understand this show, you can't write off a character who's been returning since '71

I'll never not be irritated with Doctor Who bringing back the Master and making him evil again. Missy had a beautiful arc and died siding with The Doctor and then in series 12 The Master just shows up evil again with no explanation.

@DLCDonut I think this is the most interesting regeneration as it's the one time both sides of it are pulling in such opposite directions. One side is doing everything to tell you the show can't continue without David and the other is not considering his incarnation for a second

I think murray’s score hurts it a lot too. The score shouldnt be telling the audience what to feel and this scores absolutely going “this is big and sad and important” which like, its not tho. It was sad at the time to see david leave but the doctors not dying, so

@_PicklesParker I don't really know what else you wanted with Simm connectivity. Her first episode she explains she survived because of DotD then her last one they explain exactly what happened to Simm after Galifrey was saved then show you what causes him to regen. What's left to want?

Missy's introduction also doesn't explain what happened to Simm's Master or follow up on the end of time in any way, so Im unsure why people expected much of one with Dhawan, in the same way that when Doctor's regenerate, they don't continue a character arc from their predecessor

@JayExci @R3belDiamond The NuMaster has the issue of The Joker in that despite how much fans and the show want you to believe they're "Crazy" and chaotic they're very boringly predictable. The Master doesn't need to be good but it's as simple as them working for their own, warped idea of good
