It is so deeply depressing to see Labour give the right wing press these soundbites. They know no one “lives a life on benefits” if they are not severely ill and those who do are consigned to poverty. And yet they say it, making the country that little bit nastier and divided.

For anyone who needs this explaining: It’s not at all bigoted to say you don’t find a comedian funny. But if you find yourself regularly getting angry at a disabled comedian being on TV and/or saying things like “I just can’t understand her,” you’re probably a massive bigot.

Nothing says to people who draw on care or support ‘you should feel grateful’ (and guilty) more than seasonal messages on here from social care leaders thanking the workforce for ‘sacrificing’ their own Christmas. It reveals a great deal, even if unconscious & well meant.

Disappointing. @LaticsOfficial refused free personal assistant ticket to attend hospitality. Expected to return to usual seat during game, which would miss part of game when moving between. Never used to be like this. @lpftweets struggle to get club to adjust approach. #wafc

@IsntLifeTragic @BBCPM This is about the role of the state, medical practitioners, courts (etc.) passing legislative and policy that would reorientate roles to facilitate/accelerate death. It is not about "individual choice" but the relation between states/practitioners, death, and individuals.

An individual should have the choice or right to end their life when for them death is the desired and logical option. Death can be a blessing. @IsntLifeTragic @BBCPM Choice does not exist in abstract vacuums. Person's choice to pursue assisted suicide is affected by existing political, economic, social, and cultural arrangements that perpetuate disabled people’s marginalisation (including those with progressive/”terminal” conditions) .
