Feel terrible for the good people in Maryland @Preakness. The fact that the Belmont has been run at less than 1 1/2 miles 4 of the last 7 years hurts the Preakness just as much as the spacing.

@browch05 Spot on…no reason to build a new Pimlico. Work around Laurel with half the budget then put the $ in breeding and state ownership/farms

Thank you Bryan for simply saying what’s been hard for many of us to admit. It worries me Maryland has now risked its entire thoroughbred industry to prop 1 race that simply doesn’t seem to be holding its importance in the calendar.

@j96198 @NeverSettleTV @preakness Yes all aware but that doesn’t change my statement. 1st has been “Maryland” racing for many years now and CD doesn’t get to run the event from what I read. MJC already hired a company to run the event. No guarantee MJC would make the event successful again either

I was the assistant track announcer at Laurel in 1986. Called one race a day. Haven’t called there since. Looking forward to calling the @PreaknessStakes there next week! @NBCSports @FanDuel_Racing
