Remember, if Kagan joins a Sotomayor/Jackson opinion, it’s likely at least plausible. If Kagan declines to join a Sotomayor/Jackson opinion, it’s definitely insane. And if *Sotomayor* declines to join a *Jackson* opinion, you’re in for a real treat.

@robinhanson The rise of ubiquitous multifactor authentication and cloud services significantly mitigated the risk of impactful ransomware attacks. Still possible, but a lot fewer businesses are exposed and attacks have shifted to financial crime and data exfil.

Decades ago computer security experts told me that computer security problems had been getting worse, and that in a few decades we'd be spending much more due to them. But personally I seem to see less security harms. Were those old security experts right or not?

@BarryOnHere I would love to pull the data, but I’ll bet Brady had by far the lowest avg. cap % of everyone on this list. Rodgers was better but renegotiated to maximize his $. Brady made sure the team around him was better.

Here's the career playoff efficiency for 6 Hall of Fame quarterbacks. Not medicore QB's with fluky good playoff stats. 6 HALL OF FAMERS. So how is it, in a sport where winning is heavily correlated with QB efficiency, that the QB with the 2nd worst efficiency of the bunch has by far the most rings? Could it be that Brady was....dare I say.....an overrated luck merchant who got bailed out at an unprecedentedly high rate which led to an inflated ring count?

@tsnmike @T_Oglesby22 And what was their margin of victory against weak competition? I get it, but the conversation bores me.

@WarPigsChief @fccincinnati Slower to react to everything and somehow both playing super deep and still outnumbered at the point of attack. Painful to watch.

A continuation of Sundays shitty soccer from @fccincinnati. Hard to see the FC keeping Tigres scoreless for 45’ in the second half. Don’t know what else to say. It’s bad.

I have a really dumb question: Why can't we just have a flat tax rate for every person? And get rid of the stupid deductions, etc? Just have everyone pay the same rate in the U.S.? It would save us from so many damn problems. And all these idiotic arguments.

The Bearcats dug themselves a early-midseason hole because of so many losses where they either simply didn't make a play or two in the closing minutes, melted down with turnovers, or just let a game slip away. To have their tournament hopes end the way they did - by blowing an eight-point lead with 2 minutes to go in a must-win game is painfully and frustratingly fitting.

@ChrisMartzWX The system selects for the wrong type of person. Intelligence and ethics are negatives when you have to raise millions to win races.

Americans used to elect very intelligent people to federal office. Now we elect the dumbest people ever imaginable. Can anyone explain how we got here?

I think Miami should be in the tourney even if they lose before the MAC final, but we have really good advanced metrics that show that Auburn is the significantly better team (40 in KenPom vs. 88). This whole debate comes down to how you value how good they are vs. how you value and measure the resume they’ve produced over a full season. NET does have some bad incentives that make it tough for mid-majors to schedule, but if Miami were actually good, they would be crushing inferior opponents. Fun team regardless.

The Miami OH situation has really made me start to question the NET system. NET values and rewards quality losses more than simply not losing. Miami hasn't lost a single game this year and yet is viewed as a less worthy team than Auburn who is 4-11 in Quad 1 games. In other words, NET says that it is better to win 26% of your big games, than it is not play any big games. NET says it is better to be 15-14 overall with a tough schedule than 30-0 with an easy schedule. It's a really unique debate and I'm curious where everyone else falls on this.

@grok @FantasyMess89 @ACCox1 @Hybridathlete The most I had was 26 light beers in 20 hours at a bachelor party when I was in my early 20s and about 200lbs. I had plenty of water too over the course of the day. Where do you think I ended up in BAC?

If a 200lb man drinks 2 light beers every hour for 48 hours, their BAC would be roughly 1%. -0.08% is the legal limit -0.20% is likely blacked out -0.30% is likely unconscious -0.40% will kill most -0.50% will kill all but the most talented alcoholics So no, it is not doable.
Definitely Nick@other_st_nick

If you have no other obligations and you organize your weekend around it I think 100 beers in 48 hours is quite doable. Not smart, but doable

People who believe men can become women and vice versa tend to also believe a lot of other crazy things. You might be the rare relatively sane person, but the exception often proves the rule.

I'm fine with people disagreeing on trans issues. I'm even moderate on sports teams and youth surgeries. What baffles me is the politicians & candidates who obsess over it as the #1 issue (above econ, war, border) when it will have zero effect on the lives of 95% of the public.

Bearcats have won six of seven. The victories have come by an average margin of 19 points. Four of the wins have been more than 20. They're playing very, very well. Their tournament candidacy needs a lot of work, but I'll take my chances with how they're playing.

@BuckSexton My kids were well behaved, but they had occasional meltdowns like all kids do. I did the responsible parent thing and removed them from the situation so they didn't disturb others. That this is even a discussion is crazy.
