Always great to have friends from @MNFarmBureau in D.C., especially during #NationalAgricultureWeek, to discuss the many wins for farmers and rural families in the House Ag Committee-passed Farm Bill. Strong ag policy benefits every American, and I’m grateful for the work our Farm Bureau members do to advocate for Minnesota’s producers and rural communities.

Thank you @MNPoliceAssn for inviting me to speak at this year’s fly-in. I’m proud to be a strong supporter of our law enforcement officers and I have the utmost respect for the men and women across our state who make sacrifices every single day to keep our families and our neighbors safe. I appreciated the opportunity to join so many of our Minnesota police officers to hear about the challenges they’re facing on the job and discuss ways Congress can ensure our law enforcement officers have the resources they need to do the job safely.

Thanks to Lake Superior’s cold, deep waters and our state's cold-weather climate, Minnesota serves as a unique training ground for the U.S. military. During this week’s House Armed Services Committee hearing, I asked Gen. Guillot, Commander of U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM), about the challenges military units face when training in arctic conditions and how Minnesota can support our troops in achieving mission readiness. Criminal immigrants who have been convicted of defrauding the American people do not deserve to reside in our country on the taxpayers’ dime – plain and simple. In Minnesota, we know all too well what happens when people from foreign countries steal benefits and defraud taxpayer-funded programs, which is why I was a proud YES on passage of the Deporting Fraudsters Act today.

From Winona to Worthington, each and every one of our cities across #MN01 plays a critical role in serving the needs of its residents. When local and federal leaders work together, we can continue to build a state where families want to live and businesses want to grow. I enjoyed speaking at this year’s @MinnesotaCities breakfast about ways we can work shoulder-to-shoulder to ensure our communities remain a great place to live, work, and raise our families.

I’m proud to be a voice in Congress for our #MN01 communities and advocate for the federal resources that will help improve the places we call home. This week, I met with Rochester Mayor Kim Norton to discuss federal funding for some of the city’s current and upcoming projects, like drinking water improvements, technology upgrades for our first responders, and reconstruction of major roadways for improved safety and traffic flow.

Great to see @POTUS sign today’s executive order creating the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud – a major step to preventing the kind of massive theft of taxpayer dollars that we’ve seen in Minnesota. I’m grateful for this administration’s commitment to taking fraud seriously and putting an end to the misuse of our hard-earned taxpayer dollars.

Big congrats to Oronoco’s Luke Sems on earning his first career win in his pitching debut for the @USMMA_Baseball team! Luke is one of the best and brightest students in #MN01, and it was a true honor to nominate him to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy last year. I have no doubt his talents on the field will serve him well as he prepares for a career of service to our nation. Way to go, Luke!

Any connection to taxpayer fraud must be investigated – especially when it’s about our kids. From top to bottom, government officials in Minnesota must do better at safeguarding taxpayer dollars from fraudsters who are robbing the state blind.

Lt. Col. Brandon Shah tragically lost his life because a terrorist, who was previously arrested and pled guilty to supporting ISIS, was released from federal prison by the Biden administration’s Department of Justice. He should have been deported years ago, but instead was allowed to remain within our borders and perpetuate horrific violence that took one life and injured two others. It should never have happened. Convicted criminals with ties to terrorist organizations shouldn’t be allowed to remain in America. Plain and simple. apnews.com/article/jalloh…

Justin Reinarts took great pride in being a first responder, serving 17 years with the Hanska Fire Department. It was an honor to join his fellow firefighters to remember Justin and present the department with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in his memory. Special thanks also to Morgan and Cris for joining us and sharing the great work that Minnesota United Against Domestic Violence is doing to give a voice to the victims in our #MN01 communities who were taken from us too soon.

Since 1866, the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce has helped build the Rochester area into the epicenter of economic activity that it is today. For weeks, Democrats have held DHS funding hostage. Again today, Democrats had another chance to put politics aside and vote to reopen DHS. Instead, nearly every one of them chose to continue to put their partisanship above the men and women who protect our homeland. At a time of heightened security concerns around the world and here at home, it’s past time we rip the “D” and “R” off our sweaters and get this done. I once again urge Senator Klobuchar, Senator Smith, and their Democrat colleagues to do the right thing, put the safety of our families, friends, and neighbors first, and reopen the Department of Homeland Security.

Throughout my time in Congress, I’ve been focused on delivering a strong, bipartisan Farm Bill that is written by farmers for farmers, and by rural America for rural America.
