@Mangu_baby @Aella_Girl @letclaudiatweet I am no expert of female behavior, but my understanding is that when someone’s husband is being flirtatious with another woman, that can breed jealousy and resentment towards the object of attraction from the wife, especially if it is not repelled by the recipient.

this is not the diplomatic move if you are a hot popular girl vulnerably approached by a nervous nerdy girl whose husband is inappropriately enamored with you. the diplomatic move is to start subtly ice-queening the husband (but not so blatantly as to cause drama) and acting warmly towards the girl. all other moves are open aggression, which can be strategically correct, but certainly are not “post receipts on the timeline to be vindicated” moves so is this autism, or am I just southern and not competent in San Francisco Womanese?

@ilex_ulmus this is the entirety of that conversation.

@Aella_Girl @letclaudiatweet “Banging someone’s ex husband at an orgy as a gag” is just something that normal people will never be able to process and that’s probably a part of the dynamic here

some context is that holly started being really cruel about me to other people and on twitter, saying stuff along the lines of people only took me seriously cause they wanted to fuck me, etc. for quite some time before this. from my point of view, and the way I remember things (which isn't perfect), there was a guy and his gf i was friendly to for a while, didn't know well, he taught me guidedtrack, he was a fan of my work, there was some weird stuff going on in their relationship i didnt know, i wasn't close with either of them, they lived very far away. i was just trying to be nice and stay out of it and be clear that no i was not reciprocating anything but u guys have fun. then they divorced, over the course of a few years he moved to my city, we became friends, started working together, and over this period of time holly became increasingly mean to me for, from my perspective, no particularly good reason. i hadn't interacted with her much or tried to turn anyone against her. i thought it was projection off of her own dynamic with her ex husband. i felt pretty hurt by this cause i thought i'd been nice to her. but whatever. over a certain level of visibility some ppl just seem to kinda lose it and take out their issues on you so i ignored it idk. Her ex did eventually bang me at an orgy, but I consider this pretty minor; it was brief, I barely remember it, and *tons* of guys I don't know well or even like that much bang me at orgies. ppl really focus on this but it was more of a gag than anythign else. I maintained that i did not want to date him and did not have sex with him in any contexts i considered meaningful. anyway i had her blocked for a long time, she tweets this 'apology' at me with a really warped depiction of the actual conversation, and im just like. ok fuckit i am fed up. i will finally make any public response *at all* and respond with the actual text so people can see the gap between how she perceives reality and what actually happened. I don't know how to handle this kind of thing in general. It's been happening more in my life as I have gotten more famous, usually a one-degree-removed person will start getting extremely upset with me for something I did or represent as is mediated through whatever mutual network we have, and then start really focusing in on me specificaly and going around on the timeline or in social groups telling people that i suck for reasons that I consider really warped construals of what actually happened, or referred anger from a different issue, and like. idk man. idk what the solution is here. it feels like im just going through life tryin to mind my own damn business and not start beef with anybody else, but ppl get furious at me and im just like pleaseeee leave me alone. historically for most of these i have practiced complete non-response, but im trying out something different here. idk if it's a smart move but this will at least get me data.

@cricket_je101 @pooptartgav I agree, to that end ‘reliably cheaper’ or some such phrasing would be more effective so that uber riders that are price sensitive are encouraged to consistently check Lyft

Sounds constructive to me. I’d fade the AIPocalypse. USG and Anthropic need each other.
David Sacks@DavidSacks

I’ve had a number of conversations with folks inside and outside government about the current situation with Anthropic, and here is what I believe to be true: — As we know, Anthropic publicly released its Mythos class models earlier this week under the commercial name Fable. — Fable is Mythos with guardrails. But if those guardrails fail, then you’ve exposed Mythos and its advanced cyber capabilities to people who shouldn’t have them. (Keep in mind that Anthropic itself widely promoted the idea that Mythos was a cyberweapon and needed to be regulated as such. They asked for government regulation of Mythos and championed the guardrails on Fable. If there is a vulnerability — big or small — it is Anthropic’s responsibility to patch.) — A highly credible trusted partner of both Anthropic and the USG who was testing Fable came forward with a jailbreak of those guardrails. The Admin asked Dario to fix the jailbreak or de-deploy the model. Dario refused. — In their blog post, Anthropic defended its decision by saying the jailbreak isn’t serious. That is not what the trusted partner and the USG believe; nor is that kind of minimizing language consistent with Anthropic’s brand as the AI safety company. It’s difficult to fathom how they could claim a jailbreak allowing operability of a cyber weapon could be defined as not “serious.” — In the past, Anthropic has always said that safety must be top priority and taken super seriously. In this case, Anthropic prioritized the continued offering of the consumer model over safety. — In reaction, the Admin issued the export control. The Admin did this reluctantly. It’s been very surprised that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to cooperate with a reasonable safety request (ie fixing the jailbreak issue). Anthropic’s reaction is very much at odds with their branding and ethos as a safe AI research community. — The Admin’s hope now is that Anthropic remediates the safety issue, the export control is lifted, and Fable goes back into general release. The Admin wants all of this to happen as soon as possible. It is frankly bewildered that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to comply with safety requests that it previously said were its highest priority. — Those trying to misdirect and tie this action to the prior DoW/Anthropic issues are wrong. The Admin values Anthropic’s technical capabilities and feels that this issue, while serious, should be easily resolved. The ball is in Anthropic’s court.

Nobody tell the international fans clutching their pearls about the water breaks for commercials that the NFL literally has things called “TV time outs.” They are not wrong, but I don’t think they realize how much worse it can get over here with televised sports.

@HighyieldHarry Either fable is extremely dangerous and the broader public should not have access Or Fable is not actually dangerous and everyone should have access The US Gov’ts position is simply incoherent, which is to say populist nonsense.

@HighyieldHarry Assume that fable is actually as dangerous as they say it is: Why would it make sense at all to then block access for anyone who is not a US citizen? Couldn’t a maladjusted US citizen still use this ‘extremely dangerous’ model to cause chaos and destruction?
