people find the idea of the chainsmokers and jake paul being good investors infuriating because it validates what many fear to be true: venture has always been an access and likability game lately, venture capitalists have throned themselves as high pedigreed individuals that follow rigorous paths to earn the privilege to invest. they were never seen that way by their peers in high finance originally. the reality is, the origins of venture are rooted in ship voyage financiers and cowboys. likeable, well-connected people with the propensity to take insane swings. it hurts career investors to think that a few internet celebrities and a dj duo may have far better returns than them. and they have all seem to have a ton of fun doing it too

I’m not sure how one can watch game after game and not see the subjectiveness & VAR shenanigans that’s favoring certain teams. Sad to see but FIFA is a product.
