I would be remiss in not thanking @SimonBowmaker, who sent me an unreleased interview he did with Warsh for his forthcoming book (which I believe is coming out early next year), and it gave us a ton of color to work with!
Victoria Guida@vtg2

The odds seem stacked against Kevin Warsh, but the carefully crafted career path he has traveled up to this point suggests he is perhaps uniquely situated to pull off being Trump’s Fed chair A portrait of him, by me & the very talented @ianwardreports politico.com/news/magazine/…

Today I got this wonderful gift. This will proudly hang in my MIT office. I used to stare at a print of this at Chicago (gone) when I was a student. This one has Friedman's autograph and belonged to the great Stan Fischer (Chicago-MIT connection). Can you find him? Who else?

Fun story from Scott Alvarez, ex-Fed general counsel, about Jay Powell when he was at the Treasury. Seems Powell wanted the Fed job all along!

Has any academic economics paper ever featured a title based on a Led Zeppelin song? I am proposing to Dora that we title a paper; "The Song Remains the Same?"

What a game! Indeed the jersey is @SunderlandAFC and given that no one got the score exactly correct I will award a prize to the 3 closest entries! As such, @lekiril @_dmcmillan and @lsschmitz2 please send an email to dianas@uchicago.edu and Amy Marie with your address and t-shirt size! Great job!

Next Voltage Effect Giveaway! You know the deal: winner receives a signed book and t-shirt! Good luck! A team just gifted me a jersey. Name that team (don’t worry, Liverpool is still my club!) and correctly guess the score (each team's goals) of this Saturday’s “big game.”

Echoes of the 1970s. Switzerland pioneered negative interest rates in the 70s after the US suspended dollar convertibility into gold, the RoW questioned the dollar's reserve currency status and capital inflows into CH caused the franc to appreciate. h/t to @m_maggiori who spoke about this at the Hoover conference on monetary policy last Friday.
