@TheBoxingQuant While pero has good, sharp punching technique, he seems to lack proper power to deter miller from coming in.
Havent seen him focused on lateral movement either since he is too preoccupied with walking opponents into counters which limit his mobility.
Jarrell Miller is looking lean (305 lbs) and locked in for this WBA eliminator tonight. He hasn’t been this "in shape" since the Ruiz fight , and we know that pressure is a nightmare for anyone.
HOWEVER... I’m still siding with Lenier Pero via Decision 🇨🇺
Miller’s engine is problematic at heavyweight but, Pero’s Olympic pedigree and southpaw movement are the perfect "matador” tools. Expect Miller to push the pace, but Pero to snatch the rounds with cleaner, sharper counters as long as he stays disciplined and is conditioned for 12 rounds.
Prediction: Pero by close decision win in a heavyweight classic

@TaylorOnSport@Garfield5_ thought lack of proper body work, not knowing how to cut off the ring and pin opponent to the ropes was a bad look. Was headhunting too much and constantly threw his left hand from too far out.
@Garfield5_ Not great. Silyagin couldn’t really do that much with Osleys, but I thought this highlighted the latter’s limitations re: ring IQ. He’s physically very gifted and clearly heavy-handed, but not the fighter some claim him to be
Despite winning inside the distance, Iglesias was underwhelming tonight. Struggled with Silyagin’s movement - particularly when he circled to the right - and looked bereft of ideas offensively. Clearly has a limited inside game as well and doesn’t know how to shorten his punches
As of now, our hands are tied, the BBBoC made the call to cancel the fight

@TaylorOnSport How much cardio is based on genetics? I'm aware that fast twitched explosive guys have to control pace and fight in spurts. But even within the swarmer type fighters there are some with insane output. How much is through hard work compared to genetics?
@liinfn@DutchKafir Not in my experience, but mostly have been to gyms in big cities in west germany and berlin. But its also reflected in professional boxing or mma. You rarely see ethnic germans fighting professionally.
A dominant victory for Karol Welter (20-1) 🇵🇱, who secured the WBA Baltic middleweight title with a fourth-round stoppage of Misto Abdulaev (11-2) 🇩🇪 in Wroclaw, Poland.
Welter was vastly superior, scoring three knockdowns before sealing the win.
I would love to see Welter fight for the EBU title next - he absolutely has what it takes to win it

@AlBernstein Can you give us the top 10 of that weight class without using boxrec? There is barely any talent the higher you go in women's boxing. Spencer literally doesn't even have a good win either and should have a loss against mannes.
A word about 40 year old Mary Spencer, who fought well tonight even in losing. She is certainly still in the top 3 of 154 pounders in the world. She may be 40 but she does fight fight like that age. This fight may take something out of her, but I don't think it is career ending, unless she wants it to be. She is a skilled fighter who can still be in important fights.
