@WhickTv @RyanCMullally However it's very clear throughout the conversation that andrew is against women voting and would not allow it in his ideal society, I'm really not sure how Ryan missed that during his watch.

It not only resembles free speech but is free speech and freedom of association. Asmongold has a right to say what he wants and a right not to listen to a fucking word you have to say about it lol.
Destiny | Steven Bonnell II@TheOmniLiberal

btw, when people like @Asmongold openly admit they want 0 pushback for anything they say, this is an admission that they have no value about a "marketplace of ideas" or "open discourse" or anything, they want to preach to a choir in an insulated, protected echo chamber fortified by social media algos Nothing about this resembles anything remotely close to "free speech" or the purpose of why free speech exists.

I think he'd say Hasan is much closer to a Dem than MTG. Hasan at least said after the election that he voted for Kamala. He has endorsed other Dems like Mamdani or AOC. He shared more valued with Dems than with MAGA. I don't take issue with that part. But we had like a 5 hour conversation about this last night & I feel like a lot of this is self explanatory.

Beating a dead horse with @PiscoLitty talking about what people mean by "In the coalition." I think my definition is what people like Destiny & Hutch mean when they say it but Pisco disagrees. The criteria: "Inside the coalition" means we'd treat them as an ally & if they're "Outside" we'd likely treat them as an enemy. Who's "Inside?" 1. This discourse is about content creators (Not talking about politicians or viewers) 2. Their platform needs to be a NET BENEFIT to getting Dems elected (Especially in terms of defeating MAGA) not that they just say they vote for Dems or that they advocate for people to do so once in a while. (Meaning they can't spend most of their time shitting on Dems politicians & caveat just saying they're the lesser evil) 3. Their brand would have to meet a moral threshold (Meaning they can't be anti-semitic or a radical etc) If they meet this criteria, I'd view that person as "Inside the coalition." If you use this term, do you agree with this explanation?

@TomFooleryP @PiscoLitty I also think that Pisco gets confused because he handles it the right way but tends to take up the mantle for the people who don’t. If he ever talked to Hasan it would be adversarial and he would press him on not supporting Kamala. That’s all we’re asking for.

Remember kids, "vote blue no matter who" is only yelled at the left. I seriously think we're going to see it not insignificant amount of liberals protest voting against Grand Platner when he wins the primary.

Just debated Third Way’s Jonathan Cowan on @BrianLehrer over fake @hasanthehun controversy. He was broken record, repeating antisemitism/anti-American smears. He couldn’t respond to anything and refused to say whether Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. wnyc.org/story/should-d…

@TheFirstPitch @RyanCMullally personally i think that dems should adjust the number of justices to have a more balanced court and then also pass a law making it harder (or even impossible) to change the number of justices again which avoids the problem of endless back and forth manipulation of the court

@RyanCMullally @theswoderman Then Republicans should stop misbehaving. Easy. Dems continue to give off-ramps. They aren’t going to unilaterally disarm. Republicans got 1 hit in. We get to hit back or Republicans can lower the temp. You don’t get to escalate and then say “whoa whoa you can’t respond!”

@sonofavondruk @KelseyTuoc An analogy would be if someone were to ask me something like "why do you think a significant minority of people are opposed to things like gay marriage, gay adoption, homosexuality" and I said "I think, for many, it is rooted in their religious beliefs."

Piker's views on theft are bad, but they really do pale in comparison to his views on murder: that the important thing about Brian Thompson's murder is that healthcare CEOs are 'engaging in a tremendous amount of social murder' due to 'the structural violence of 'poverty'

The centrists are being infantile again
Matt Bruenig@MattBruenig

@KelseyTuoc I think you've pretty clearly misrepresented Piker here. He was asked to theorize why some people reacted to the killing positively. And his theory is that they did so due to the disgust with health insurance sector's "social murder," which is a well-defined term of art.
