@NotGSmi @AttackOnCards @NoThank56761925 the whole point is that color hosers have been tried and done by more successful games and they didn't really create good gameplay. so it seems strange to basically walk into the same mistake instead of learning.

@ToadTV31 @AttackOnCards @NoThank56761925 Ok bro, keep moving those goalposts. Lifebane Zombie was not a problem, it didn't warp anything, and color hosers are completely fine for a game, you have no argument besides "I don't like it," like every other Riftbound player freaking out about these cards.

I HATE the Decree cards. I think it’s one of the worst decisions you could be making from a design perspective to be printing cards like these.

@ToadTV31 @AttackOnCards @NoThank56761925 Ok great, and it was still nothing more than playable. It didn't warp anything, it wasn't banned, no one talks about how overpowered it was. You just have bad memories against it because you played G/W and think that means it's "bad for the game."

@NotGSmi @AttackOnCards @NoThank56761925 Spells are inherently different to creatures. Deathmark is a literal blank against a ton of decks. Lifebane was never a true blank, at worst it was an evasive threat that was on rate. Meaning it was maindeckable for almost zero cost, as well as being a virtual free win against GW

@ToadTV31 @AttackOnCards @NoThank56761925 No it doesn't. Deathmark is in Standard right now and kills any Green/White creature for 1 mana and is barely ever played in sideboards. They're not a problem, at all, you just don't like them because you liked playing G/W when it was playable (not broken, there was no issue).

@NotGSmi @AttackOnCards @NoThank56761925 They haven’t printed a color hoser as powerful since. When color hosers show up it typically indicates a bad format as people were willing to put bad cards in their deck to hate on one color.

@ToadTV31 @AttackOnCards @NoThank56761925 Lifebane Zombie was completely fine, there was never an issue with any black decks in Standard because of Lifebane Zombie, it was just a good card in the deck/sideboard. You are being ahistorical.

@AttackOnCards @NoThank56761925 @LMJeffJones the blasts are some of the only color hosers played in competitve formats (that being pauper only). most modern (last 10-15 years) color hosers suck and they don't print good ones anymore. highly recommend you research the history of lifebane zombie to see what we mean.

Destiny 2@DestinyTheGame·
Read the full blog at bung.ie/d2_may_21_2026 For almost twelve years, we have had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through all the ups and downs, surprises and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2. As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio. Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to. We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us. From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.

What in the flying fuck is going on in Legacy and why is a top 4 deck costing as much as a vintage deck???? Like yes a playset of Candelabra does this, but when was this deck this good? Where did it come from? What metagame forces make this viable????

@ZawaTweets @totodyle98 @MillThat I respectfully disagree with you, sure it’s a game, but at the same time it needs to be collectible for it to thrive as a TCG. Without being collectible it doesn’t make much sense for local game stores to carry singles.

@SeffyrRB @RandyyyTCG Objectively it does influence their design of bomb units. These units could have OP effects on their own, but they have to be designed around them being spat out for free as early as turn 3 of the game.

@RandyyyTCG I dont know if its does limit design though. I think thats up to the designers. If they are taking Aurora into account when designing cards then thats a problem, but It doesnt look like they are based on Elder Dragon. I would just like to wait and see if these bombs are a problem

My « pro player 🤡 » read on the ban and the way it was handled - I like the transparency and that they understood the mistake made when printing Draven in its current form - Timing is a bit short but at least we knew it was coming so I dont mind too much Cards - Dreaming Tree was really stupid as it created a snowball effect that was unstoppable, leading to decks never running out or cards, being able to use it for free during both your turn and the opponent was way too strong - Reaver was just not fun for the game, if your deck didn’t run spell based removal you basically had no way to win on that battlefield, and that’s without talking about Treasure Hunter, Stellacorn and the Draven legend interactions - Obelisk is likely the one that most of the playerbase didn’t exploit to it’s maximum but it is a ridiculously strong field and the deck @TalionHS and I built for Bologna and Vegas was entirely built around pivoting between different curves using this Bf and we would have continued if it stayed in the game, I could talk for hours about the deckbuilding implications it had Now for the cards - Scrapheap had to go or they had to ban Zaun for the simple reason that it was free to run for any purple deck and created the same issue as Dreaming Tree, this is the biggest nerf to purple as a color - Red Draven is a massive hit to every red purple strategy as their curve is now terrible and the best 4 drop after red kaisa is now red rumble 🤖 lmao Good hit, without that id have found a way to abuse Draven longer hehehe - Called Shot isn’t that problematic gameplay wise imo, but it lead to games taking 40 hours and the opponent taking 20 mn a turn because they couldnt make a choice led to terrible experience in game, I dont love the hit and would have preferred to see Ezreal go but then the legend would be unplayable I guess :( - Fof was disgusting, free card with no downside and infinite flexibility I dont understand how it was printed without restrictions and thank god it is gone, this card made punishing opponent impossible and was basically Reaver but worse for one power Now for what I think was missed - Brynhir is not fun, just not a well designed card imo, I think it should have been gone this ban, there are very little positives to it being in the game - Aurora should leave, this card alone puts too much game design restrictions on top end and makes it impossible to balance late game units

@RiftboundMeta I honestly feel like we're overestimating this. Elder has 0 protection against removal. It's gonna be like a turn 4 earliest play at which point if your whole deck is get Elder out then you'll he down like 6 points. I doubt it'll be Draven or Ezreal tier deck.

If they don't want to ban Aurora (understandable cuz it's an epic and like $90), catalyst and/or mobilize should go. Playing Aurora a turn faster may be quite abysmal to play against next format, unless we see some new reveals that make the deck irrelevant. Eldar Dragon is too good of a buff to the deck

I disagree. It's set 2. Going crazy with bans now would have a very negative impact on the game as a whole. Long post incoming: If a ban must happen, it should be something minimal. I'm not a veteran riftbound player by any means, but in my humble opinion we are not in a hyper oppressive meta. Is the game perfectly balanced? Absolutely not. There is a clear color imbalance, but I'll bring my 2 decade experience in card games to the table here and say that said imbalance could be worse, A LOT worse. Right now, purple reigns. There's no debating that. But if you look into the decks, you'll realize they differ more than you'd initially think. Draven is successful, with or without called shot. I see many top players state how miracle draven is by far the superior vesion, but the results do not back this claim. Vegas was won by a classic midrange, which defeated the miracle deck in the finals. Irelia does not play called shot, in fact the key aspects that make the deck as powerful mostly stem from green, mainly stellacorn. Ezreal is ultimately a different variation of miracle, yet offers a very different approach, reactive instead of proactive like Draven. Kai'sa is still strong, not quite at the level of the big three. Viktor is also at this level. Champions like Jax are a lot stronger than many claim and I do have some hot takes on Ahri being very underrated but I'll keep that to myself, since I do not have the sample size nor personal experience to back them up yet. We are leading into the final month of the set, and while it is pretty much undeniable that Draven is the best legend in the game, he is far from invincible. Purple color combinations stand above the others, but this gap is, in my opinion, a tad exaggerated by a strong chunk of the playerbase parroting what several top players state as absolute facts. And here's the thing, they are not absolute facts. I know this will rub some people the wrong way, but no one player has a perfect vision of the game right now. And I do feel like a lot of players have locked in to a certain belief that against miracle draven there's just nothing you can do, which is NOT the case. If they banned called shot, I won't mind one bit. If they don't... I'm personally ok with that as well. I think there's still one more month in which players could attempt to find ways to adjust some lesser ranked legends against the meta. And hey, its likely the kings (and queens) won't be dethroned, but I do not believe, from my limited experience of course, that we are in an environment where Draven decks deny other legends from being able to compete. In fact I argue the most oppressive deck in the meta as of now is actually Irelia. But I do not wish for her to be nerfed either. This is my take. I could be wrong, a lot will probably disagree, but this is how I genuinely see things as of now. Set 3 will most definitely shake things up, and perhaps then some bans will actually need to happen due to the card pool increasing.

If you’re at Riot working on Riftbound and you’ve got a proposed banlist meeting Monday morning, The absolute worst thing you can do is undershoot. Just overdo it — People will stop crying about you overdoing it when they have a fresh meta. Feelings toward the game can improve

@ToadTV31 @RiftboundMeta Yeah, we definitely should do something against Called Shot. The card is just too much. I just don't agree with the sentiment that we need like 10 different cards banned. Banning cards shouldn't be a way to shake up a meta. Banning cards should be reserved for problems only

Format diversity is not the only thing that matters. Gameplay experience and general game balance matter too The only reason Draven seems remotely balanced when looking at tournament results is because other decks are also capable of doing busted nonsense Is the game bad? No, definitely not. However, there are a handful of extremely powerful or unhealthy individual cards in the game that have the potential to produce very unbalanced or unhealthy gameplay (obviously games of riftbound don't always feel like this, I'd say most of the time this game is quite good, but when they do, it's not a good gameplay experience, and it's not good for the game) Miracle Draven can do unbalanced and unhealthy things So can midrange Draven So can Ezreal So can Irelia So could Kai'Sa So could Annie So could Yi So could Aurora All of these decks were capable of doing something unbalanced or unhealthy because of the existence of 1 or 2 cards in each deck that were frankly design mistakes I love this game and want it to succeed, and because of that, I want the game to be as fun and balanced as it can be. When miracle sits there durdling for most of the clock and shits out like 30 might for almost free, that's not exactly a positive gameplay experience. Same for when Irelia deckhands you and you can't do anything about it, or when they draw like 4 cards from a Stella. All of the other aforementioned decks have similar pain point experiences associated with them that are all mostly caused by a handful of unbalanced cards, which is why I would like them to take swift action when these problems appear to make these negative gameplay experiences occur less often, and to make the overall experience of playing the game more positive. Obviously, the game can't be perfect, but it could be better Again, the game isn't bad, but it could be much better if actions are taken against a handful of unbalanced outliers
Mogwai@MegaMogwai
