I know I haven't been on here much since I left Acronis, but I'm back looking for my next adventure! I'm trying to find remote cybersecurity work, preferably threat research or malware analysis, but open to other roles as well.

@nicolefranq For me, it was part luck, and part passion. I wasn't qualified, but someone took a chance on me because I was so fascinated by it all. Now when I am in a hiring position, I typically won't hire someone who doesn't have the passion for it, no matter their skill level.

Yesterday was my last day at Acronis. I didn't expect to leave the company so soon, but the right opportunity presented itself, and I couldn't say no. I think this next part of the journey will be fun, and will allow me to really grow in ways I haven't experience before.

@jed_reynolds The last major thing that went wrong with my Linux machine took 12 minutes to troubleshoot and correct. The last minor thing that went wrong on my Windows machine took a day and a half.

"Linux is free only if your time is worth nothing" (or whaddeva) this is FALSE argument. If you buy a Mac or buy Windows, you spend a TON of time figuring out the OS. No OS waves a magic wand for you, especially when you are a sysadmin.

If you do one thing today: Double check that your router is up to date, uses a secure password and does not expose the admin interface to the world (ok. that is three things. but take the 10 minutes to do it today)
