@financialjuice My stance is that the tapering of Quantitative Tightening influences financial conditions significantly. The Federal Reserve should adopt a more assertive approach in leveraging its balance sheet to tighten these conditions and attain its inflation target.

Nice breakdown in TRAN today, firmly through the 200d. Transports were the worst performing growth in this middle of October 2023 analog. If this analog is right (big if, i know), we could expect to see a pretty decent 5-8% correction in the next 1-2 weeks. Let's see what happens.

Back in the middle of October 2023, markets were disappointed by a fairly crappy 20 year UST auction result which helped kick off a fairly nasty 1-2 week market correction into the end of October. This tightened financial conditions and helped cement the stage for the Yellen pivot at the QRA at the end of the month and Fed dovish pivot as well. That happened on a VIX expiry Wednesday ahead of a Friday monthly options expiry during the IMF meetings in the middle of earnings season with heightened geopolitical concerns, rising oil and rising dollar. Today is another 20 year bond auction. And we are two weeks ahead of another QRA and Fed meeting. History rhymes?
