@aseparatemind It’s crazy how many fans want to blame bottom 6 players rather than players who get all the 5 on 5 and PP ice time, but can’t score 5 on 5. The bottom 6 isn’t the problem and it’s the easiest to change. Little will change though, if your Top 6 still can’t produce 5 on 5

@HockeytownRD If he’s smart he targets a couple of young centers in trades for Debrincat and Larkin Debrincat to SEA for Shane Wright and their 1st, and Larkin to ANA for MacTavish, McQueen and Luneau, or to MTL in a deal for Hage and Zharovsky That’s the trade types they can make for 71/93

@OctopusThrower_ When your 1C can’t score OR control the puck 5 on 5 in the offensive zone, and your 2C is really a 3C, you won’t win very often in NHL, unless you hv a goalie run or fluke season. Their underlying #s were bad even in DEC. Larkin is by far the most disappointing player this yr.

@GreatLakeMagyar @SCcoachRich @RedWingDiehards He scored 69 goals in NHL. Not 1 scout/coach/GM who would take Larkin over him Larkin is 1C on only a handful of teams, and some of those are arguable. DET would need a 2C equivalent to 71, to win w him as the 1C. He can’t score, nor control the o-zone 5 on 5. AM can.

@WingRaider @SCcoachRich @RedWingDiehards 53 points in 60 vs 67 in 74, and the leafs are just a wagon this year and have no issues at all! I agree they’re drastically diff players, I’d take Larkin everyday of the year. This is where you go wrong, Matthew’s has played with great wingers the whole time, has Larkin? No.

They get so defensive if anyone says anything remotely negative about Larkin. Why is that? I contend it’s cause they know there’s truth to it. I like Larkin. Far from a hater. Facts don’t lie though

@WingRaider @SCcoachRich @RedWingDiehards I’m not pretending he’s generational, but to hate on him like this ignores everything around him, No checking line, you can’t play the second line in high risk dzone deployments, you rely on him for everything, Outside of 3 centers, name one who would do more with that

Oh boy These vets, especially Larkin, can’t score 5on5. You don’t build teams around that. You’ll get a whole lot of avg for a few yrs, then another rebuild

That would be calling him a Top 10-12 C?? He’s just not guys. He’s a really great 2C, mediocre 1C. Look at his 5/5 #s. Horrific

Man scored 69 goals in the NHL. Larkin barely gets that in total points. If swapped, good bet Detroit would’ve made the playoffs

But his personality fits well under some, but has a history of fallouts. 8 was almost traded b4 Todd because he refused to accept he’d no longer carry a pairing

They’ve also looked at a draft rebuild like it was the NFL/NBA ignoring development time w prospects. A great draft is 3 NHLers. Do the math

The Detroit Red Wings really are a disappointment. When the season is over they still dont even play the prospects. We have 37 year old David Perron wasting everyone's time. Justin Faulk trade was complete garbage, plus lost our 1st rd pick. If they dont have a strong offseason, I smell another rebuild coming. Which sucks for everyone smfh #LGRW

They said in DEC the winning was a fluke. If DET don’t take a big step backwards this summer to compete in 3yrs, it’ll be lots of avg hockey for 6-8yrs

Worse than an expansion team in 7 yrs with no draft help. Only 1 Top 5 pick. No busts. It takes time though when you had no pieces to help rebuild

They need to take that big step backwards for 1-2yrs so they can compete in 3yrs. If they don’t, lots of AVG hockey for 6-8yrs

@RyanHanaWWP Kanes effectiveness is limited to turning the game into a skills competition. Which is NOT playoff hockey. Players like him are the reason we are so easy to play against. You'll get more chances playing good D, and being hard on the puck in the corners and creating that way.

@RyanHanaWWP This false narrative DET is close and only needs 1-2 pieces allowing them to compete consistently needs to stop. Look at almost all underlying #s. It’s time to pay the piper for winning too much during the rebuild, and take a step backwards for 1-2yrs or it’ll be a long 6-7yrs
