@LisaMarieBoothe American economic power has largely been a result of high functioning capitalism that empowers people and businesses to achieve great success. Insert heavy socialism into those giant cogs of capitalism, and I'd expect American exceptionalism to dissipate in equal measure.

There is a war happening between capitalism and socialism in the country, and it needs to be taken very seriously because the latter is the antithesis of what it means to be an American.

@BlueBoxDave That seems a rather astute observation. The Supreme Court has shown an uncanny knack for dropping big decisions right before elections that affect election outcomes, whether intended or not.

I’m confident the Supreme Court will rule against the administration on birthright citizenship because if they weren’t going to it would have leaked by now.

@kevinnbass I think we're still at the phase where most liberals are blinded by TDS. There may be a point, in coming years, where liberals course correct, but it won't be these midterms. Vance will be viewed as a Trump proxy, while Rubio might have some independent appeal. Buckle Up.

Are any liberals stepping back in horror at what is happening in American politics, or is everyone just going along as usual? Serious question.

@CarmineSabia In my State, every single Democrat is running to "stop Trump". If they attack their Democrat opponent, it is for not being tough enough in their efforts to stop Trump. Very little policy sees the light of day; TDS is like a total solar eclipse as far as how they campaign.

It is not that simple. It is not TDS. New York City voted the way it voted because there is an epidemic of a disease called lazy and entitled. People who demand what other people have without having to do the work other people did. They believe they deserve it, and the Democrat politicians are convincing them that they do. Sadly, these gloriously delusional people do not know that what’s at the end of their rainbow is a pot of shit not gold. If they took even 15 minutes to study the history of communism, if they took the time to talk to a Cuban or a Venezuelan, who has escaped, if they had any ambition of their own, then they would not vote for their own doom.

@tracegallagher I'd argue "financial desperation" predominantly. Blue states tend to have higher taxation and higher costs of living. We didn't discourage many young people from pursuing costly college degrees with typically low ROI. Also, the past had fewer tech-related monthly bills. etc.

NIGHTCAP QUESTION: Even some lifelong Democrats say they're worried about their party moving further and further left. What do you think is causing the slide toward socialism?

@FoxBusiness There are 50 states, 3000+ counties, and roughly 800+ cities of 50K or more. Surely there are examples where a triad of state, county & city have adjusted regulations and incentives to where builders can deliver more affordable housing.

@Geiger_Capital Some ivory tower types believe socialism is 100% benign & benevolent, often referring to European countries. Another factor is the high taxes/high cost of living in many blue states. High taxes + high cost of living = more minds receptive to heavy handed governmental controls.

Mamdani-backed Socialists went 3/3 in tonight’s New York Democratic primaries… They openly called for: - Citizenship + Voting rights for all illegals - Abolish ICE - Eliminate private health insurance - Pack the Supreme Court As I’ve said… This is the new Democratic party.

@Geiger_Capital Never thought I'd see it, but I fear you are correct. After decades of observation, the left is never satisfied. They love for government to regulate behavior, be that business or individual. Also, they chip away at individual wealth by slowly increasing all forms of taxation.

@Zoe_922q I haven't owned a Tesla but I've been in two different models. I somewhat feel the same way. (sound, FSD, pollution, etc.) I qualified that for a reason. Gasoline powered cars still work better for most apartment dwellers, for example.

Maybe it's just me... but after owning a Tesla, traditional cars feel way older than they actually are

@sakebu_cheese_ My father, who was a child during WW2, never drove a Japanese car, but my mother purchased a Subaru Impreza later in life without objection from dad. I've had my share of both Honda and Subaru cars. For me, WW2 does not define Japan nor Germany.

I find it embarrassing how many men can be fully committed and patriotic when it comes to football, but completely passive when their actual countries need saving. That is when the patriotism suddenly disappears. What a waste of commitment.

@the_culturist_ I've always thought of McDonalds as a sign of civilization when I see one in a town. My wife does not share this view. 🤣

Reminder: Germany has more castles than the United States has McDonald's. This is one is my favorite. Owned by the same family for 33 generations.
