@_HelenDale I remember driving out to see it from Paris more than 30 years ago. You could see it for miles before you arrived as it just became larger and larger. Beautiful place.

The most dangerous man in tech and AI isn't Elon Musk or Sam Altman. It's this guy... the ex-CEO of Twitter Musk refused to pay his $40M severance. As revenge, he built an AI empire that crushes Grok, OpenAI, and Claude...🧵

Elon Musk just became the world's first trillionaire. The typical American household would have to work more than 11 MILLION years to make Elon Musk's level of wealth. We need a wealth tax.

So a culture of collecting knives, carrying them, stabbing someone based on claims (false) of racial comments, and the entire family participating in the attempted cover up is not an immigration issue? Did they develop that culture from Britons? Or bring it with them? How disingenuous and tone deaf can your government be?

The problem with JD Vance commenting on UK politics is that his comment was a bad one. The death of Henry Nowak is not considered, by most critics of the government here, an immigration issue. It’s a police training issue. An issue with a misaligned state that prioritises managing multiculturalism over doing its actual job.

NEW: Bari Weiss just addressed the termination of Scott Pelley on the network's morning call just now. Weiss: "I know I speak for myself, and I hope I speak for everyone here when I say that I'm only interested in working in a newsroom that is built on trust and mutual respect. We cannot do our work without it. That foundation was broken on Monday, and despite our attempts to engage with Scott Pelley and to find a way back, unfortunately we weren't able to do so, and so we had to part ways. We did not want that to happen, but that's the path that he chose. That unfortunate outcome does not discount from the amazing contributions and work that Scott Pelley has done for CBS and for 60 Minutes over the course of his career." She then listed some of his stories from the past season and called them "unforgettable stories."

I drove 75 miles each way to work every day in California to buy our first house. After two years of this we bought a home much closer I couldn't really afford but did it taking the risk of a variable rate loan knowing I wouldn't be able to pay it as the rate rose. Fortunately, my salary rose enough to refinance to something I could pay before that happened. That was in the eighties, it's never been "easy" for most of us.

See… this is what I’m saying. $400,000?!? Really? You know we can get on Zillow and look up housing prices for starter homes in our area? Right? Like we can see houses at $250,000. Are they in LA? No. Are they starter homes like we grew up in? And our parents. And our grandparents? Yeah. $400,000 is going to be the starting price for houses in my neighborhood and that’s not a “starter” neighborhood my man.
Patrick Gould@patggould

@RobProvince Yes. That's what homes cost now. I have a co-worker that had to spend nearly 400k to buy a forty year old, thousand sq ft house. Home prices have 3x to 4x inside of the last decade. I'm lucky. I bought years ago when prices were reasonable. I don't view that as skill, though.

We supply the food industry (retail) and we've had to increase our prices 8 percent in the last two months just to cover our increased costs, and suppliers are projecting further increases. The looming high inflation no one is talking about, and it won't come down quickly if at all when oil drops.

🚨 MASSIVE DEVELOPMENT: President Trump announces oil and gas companies have informed him they're 100% DITCHING the Strait of Hormuz — and are picking Texas, USA instead They like going through US better. Imagine that. "We've become very big on the filling station. We're a big filling station. And what's happening is, when this first, when people heard about losing Hormuz, they said, oh, this is, it's genius." "They're finding other locations. And some of those people, I spoke to companies in countries. Some of those people are going to continue to go to Texas." "They like it better. They said, it's an extra 45 minutes. They like it better. And it's sort of amazing, you know, it found its way." "So a lot of people thought oil would go to $250, $300. It's not. I mean, today it's at less than a hundred." "Think of that. Now, when this ends, you're going to see a drop like a rock." 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Elon Musk says one heat shield problem could kill Starship's reusability for years. Starship is the most complicated machine humans have ever built. The hardest part isn't the engines. It isn't the steel. It isn't even the explosion margin on liftoff. Musk named the one remaining bottleneck. "It's having the heat shield be reusable. No one's ever made a reusable orbital heat shield." The shield does two impossible jobs. "It's gotta make it through the ascent phase without shucking a bunch of tiles, and then it's gotta come back in and also not lose a bunch of tiles or overheat the main airframe." 40,000 tiles per ship. Musk reframed the consumable problem through brake pads: "Your brake pads in your car are also consumable, but they last a very long time." The shield must consume slowly. It must not require inspection between launches. Musk on the current state: "We have brought the ship back and had it do a soft landing in the ocean. But it lost a lot of tiles." A soft landing is not reusability. The bar is daily launches. One ship. Many flights. Musk, on the gap that's left: "You can't do this laborious inspection of 40,000 tiles type of thing." The first reusable heat shield in history is the last gate to Mars. If you're new here, @GeniusGTX is a gallery for the greatest minds in economics, psychology, and history. I'm not sure Trump understands what's happening. With plastic resin shortages in Europe and the middle east those customers are paying whatever they have to so they have resin. US suppliers are diverting plastic resin from US supply to those areas as exports to take advantage of the higher prices, tightening US supply and driving up US prices. By June 1st this is going to almost double the cost of plastic resins to US producers (of which I am a customer, it's real.) This will cause a broad wave of multi year inflation (like the Biden era) which will kill the adminstration. The only way to stop it is to stop the predatory exports that are driving up US prices - put extreme Tarriffs on plastic resin exports out of the US, now!!!! @realDonaldTrump @DonaldJTrumpJr @SECPaulSAtkins @AFergusonFTC @DavidSacks

So US resin suppliers are shifting to supplying Europe at higher prices and increasing US prices in the range of another 30 cents per pound despite oil not being further above where it was from their initial increase a month ago. They are taking advantage, gouging the market, and fueling inflation!!! Corporate greed at its finest. Is this ok with you? @realDonaldTrump @AFergusonFTC @SECPaulSAtkins

A woman published Stephen Miller's home address. The stated goal was to put a target on a sitting White House official and his family. The Democratic DA in Arlington just announced she won't prosecute. Her reason? It might have a "chilling effect on political protest." In other words — doxxing Trump officials is now protected speech. Remember that next time they lecture you about democracy. 🇺🇸
