@spectatorindex It was already going at about 4.5 m bbls/day, which is all the more the Red Sea port can transfer to ships anyhow.

@sledge_baba But you wouldn’t need the circle, just the stick. There must be more to it.

Simple, everywhere looks the same when you're in the middle of a desert. The wind covers your footprints overnight also. So in order for the travelers to not get lost, they sleep within the circle which serves as a compass, with their walking sticks pointing towards the direction they are headed, so once they wake up they continue in the direction the stick is pointing. There might be other reasons but this is what a friend who once tried to enter Europe through the desert shared as an experience.
Isabella@IsabellaAmara1

Can someone explain why some people draw a circle around themselves when they sleep in the desert?

Louisiana has a barbecue style with a vinegary sauce that some people swear by. I admit I don't. Maryland has its famous pit beef. But I agree barbecue is mainly from the states shown. There are two places in my town in Utah that claim to have "authentic Texas barbecue". I have checked out one of them and it would pass for middling Texas 'cue. On a trip to Germany, a team from California showed up and said "We are going to do an authentic American barbecue for you Germans." The Germans raved. What did the Californians cook? Bratwurst, chicken breast, and a few slices of pork or beef. I did not accept it as true barbecue but it was not for me to rain on their parade.

本質的情報だけど、米国でおいしいBBQが食べれるのはこの7州しかない(しかもどれも全然スタイルが違う)。逆に言えばほとんどの米国人もBBQがなにか知らない。

I can't believe this is not a bigger story, Ukrainian intelligence has reported Russian military intelligence fed Iranian military targeting data for the strikes that resulted in multiple service members and aircraft being destroyed in Prince Sultan airbase in Saudi Arabia.

The ally of my enemy is my enemy. That’s usually how the history of war has played out. Yet, for some reason , Russia is an ally of Iran but still treated as a friend by Trump and his team. Why? So bizarre. And antithetical to American national interests.

Before chlorine was discovered, ancient civilizations turned to copper as a powerful natural defense against waterborne bacteria. Societies such as the Egyptians and Romans were far ahead of their era, using copper vessels to purify water and copper compounds to treat infections. Today, science explains this through the oligodynamic effect — the ability of copper ions to kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi even at very low concentrations. Unlike many modern disinfectants that attack a single target, copper works through multiple lethal mechanisms at once: it damages and ruptures microbial cell membranes, produces reactive oxygen species that destroy the pathogen’s DNA, and disrupts essential enzymes by displacing critical metals. This broad-spectrum attack makes it extremely difficult for bacteria to develop resistance, unlike what often happens with conventional antibiotics. While chlorine is still the go-to solution for large-scale water treatment, copper is experiencing a strong revival in healthcare and public spaces. Copper surfaces offer continuous “contact killing,” rapidly neutralizing dangerous superbugs like MRSA that can survive for weeks on stainless steel. The World Health Organization recognizes copper’s safety in drinking water at appropriate levels and highlights its advantage as a persistent antimicrobial agent compared to many volatile chemical disinfectants. By combining ancient knowledge with cutting-edge microbiology, copper is being rediscovered as a durable, low-toxicity solution in humanity’s ongoing battle against infectious diseases.
