@SeanSkahan Call me a dinosaur but from the standpoint of undoing the negative effects of being in the hockey position that the season imposes..... I will always push for a later start to off-season on-ice work. Early to Mid-August start.

Really starting to question if I need to condition my athletes anymore in the off-season. With the amount of skating taking place year round at all levels of hockey- is it even necessary?

@SeanSkahan I don’t disagree that on-ice work truly will prepare players for the unique demands of the game, but 10+ years ago we (HKY SC community) pushed for less time on the ice in the off-season and more time off-ice. Maybe we are losing the argument with our players and coaches?

@SeanSkahan Unfortunately It is becoming the norm at all levels of hockey.
