Exactly. The quantum FUD always ignores a glaring macroeconomic reality: the legacy banking system and the centralized fiat ledgers will be utterly compromised by quantum computing long before Bitcoin is. Bitcoin is a sovereign, adaptable network. The protocol will simply upgrade to post-quantum signatures like SHRIMPS to protect the thermodynamic wall. Absolute scarcity will just adopt the new math.

They then blew up the Accurate Energetic Systems a month later to cover up all the evidence and killed 16 people in the process. Whether you think advanced quantum computing becomes a reality soon or not, this FUD campaign is extremely successful. People are spooked and selling their coins. IMO the only way to combat this FUD is to be fully prepared for quantum, even if it never ends up happening.

@nic_carter I did not say Google were astroturfing and I recognise that a solution will need to be found. That said, it is clear many will exaggerate and spread FUD because of ulterior motives.

The Bitcoin community must prepare for the biggest astroturfing campaign we have ever seen. It's clear that quantum will be the major attack vector against Bitcoin for the next few years until a conclusive solution is found. Most of the FUD will be completely unfounded and intended to separate you from your coins. Do not underestimate the vested interest in pushing this narrative far beyond what is necessary because they stand to benefit enormously. Think quantum VC funds and shitcoins trying to promote themselves as "quantum resistant" alternatives. And the attention seekers. Never forget about them. While it is clear that the Bitcoin network needs to become quantum resistant, please understand that some of the smartest developers in the world are working on this and have been for years. Most of the discussion does not happen in public but believe it is a priority and of upmost importance. Bitcoin will be fine.
