I am saddened by the passing of my colleague, Congressman David Scott. This Autism Awareness Month, we’re raising awareness about disparities too often ignored. Black children, especially Black boys, are too often diagnosed later and face greater barriers to care and support. Early intervention changes lives, and every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

People who work full time should be able to live on what they earn. Right now, too many families are doing everything right and still can’t keep up with rent, groceries, and basic needs. That is not acceptable. A living wage is about meeting reality. It’s about making sure work actually pays enough to live. I am working, and will continue working, to make that a reality.
