@neipate96 @bfurnas You mean, how is that? With QL you divert the M train south at Rego Park so it no longer terminates in Forest Hills, allowing for 50% extra capacity on the local Queens Boulevard line. Much needed capacity as Queens gets more dense. And capacity needed for the IBX!

@bfurnas fairly low population density region but lacks good subway service so good ridership potential

Our very own Andrew Lynch was featured on an episode of "The City's" podcast, where he explained how QueensLink's #RailsandTrails vision will transform the borough! Click the 🔗 in bio to check it out! #BuildtheQueensLink

@harrysiegel @thequeenslink It sounds like Queens Link also requires rebuilding the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Ave station. (And the 7 line station above it?) I wonder if that's included in the cost.

@DanielHillNYC @harrysiegel @thequeenslink Daniel isn’t your business on Woodhaven Boulevard? The proposed park area is where Logan currently rents land from the city to park its buses. Any space that’s not needed for rail is a “serving suggestion“ and malleable based on community need and input.

@UrbaneUrban With QL the M turns south at Rego Park, no longer contributing to a bottleneck by terminating at Forest Hills, thereby increasing capacity.

@bfurnas @crossing5000 G could come back to FH if QueensLink was created. Diverting the M South instead of terminating in FH frees up about 30% capacity on the local Queens Blvd lines. None of that is being considered re: whether to reactivate the Rockaway Beach branch or not, or build QW instead.

I mean, if it’s between a billion dollars annually for free buses or building 41 miles of subway extensions now and 64 stations over the next few decades instead, I know which one I’m picking. (NYU Marron/NYT)

@ArmandDoma We here in S Queens need QueensLink. We’re such a disconnected borough and the corridor is right there. Unless they build the small section of park on it budgeted by Mayor Adams and then the opportunity is lost.

Its easy to spot a transplant here,The Natives complain about the cold and snow , and threaten to move to Florida, but really just suck it up. The transplants complain about the snow everywhere and expect it to magically disappear as they dont understand what a Plow actually does

@thequeenslink If they build the park first with no consideration for rails, the rails will never come. South Queens will be forever condemned to horrific traffic that’s only getting worse.

Gonna need you to do a little better than this, papi. Pedestrians aren’t responsible for forging desire paths in the snow. Property owners are responsible for shoveling their sidewalks. City did their job. You gotta do yours.

@paultrust @EmilyAssembly that is the long term solution, Who knows if they began construction tommorrow how long it would even take to build (The tunnel from QBL to the line is probably the hardest part)

As you may recall, I have been asking that the MTA extend the G train back to its previous glory when it went out to forest hills for years— and the idea is building momentum! nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/01/27/mem…

@ridestheq46 @EmilyAssembly Unless…you guessed it, you create QueensLink. diverting the M at regal Park down to the rockaways adds enough QBL line capacity to bring back the G.

@EmilyAssembly You cant run the G to forest Hills because there is a limit on trains that terminal on the QBL line. there is no space at Forest Hills, 179th or Suthphin for more trains. If G trains ran to forest Hills then trains to Manhattan would need to get cut

It’s funny for how skilled a communicator Mamdani is, mainstream American sports are just off his radar. For instance, he talked about people staying in yesterday and watching reality tv, not the conference championship games
