Adults should NOT have to bring doctor’s notes to their employer like we’re 8 years old asking for a bathroom pass. You’re a grown adult with bills, responsibilities, and a full-time job. If you say you’re sick, that should be enough. Forcing workers to pay $150+ for a doctor visit just to prove they’re not faking it is humiliating and dystopian. Your body doesn’t need corporate permission to be sick. And making people drag themselves to a doctor while contagious just spreads illness in the office.We trust adults to vote, sign contracts, raise kids, and serve in the military… but God forbid they take a Tuesday off without a permission slip.

@smschmidt1 @MetamateDaz If sick time is not expected to be used then don’t offer it. I manage many employees who are entirely predictable w their sick leave, but they still get the work done. NGL, I get frustrated with it, but I get over it, & never use it against them.

Recently…….good friends always fly to and from Florida (from the Midwest ) regularly for extended stays. They got a dog. Now they drive. A 6 hr trip (door to door) now is 2-1/2 days. Each way. Not to mention today’s increasing risks associated with driving. They are happy, great.

@smschmidt1 @MetamateDaz Most companies now just give you PTO and not classified as sick pay anymore so theres no reason to fake an illness. Just say you taking the day off is enough for most. I tell my boss I'm taking monday off cause fk it why not. I'm using all my PTO and if im sick the state pays me.
