MLS is most likely to be first league to add hydration breaks. MLS has history of embracing change (VAR, ref-cam, ref mics, timed subs, off-field treatment, 35- yard shootout, etc.) Premier League will be last, not b/c they don’t want it, but b/c it’s perceived as American.

I find soccer purists weird. Every sport, as it gets popular, makes adjustments to accommodate television coverage. Yes, the phony cover story of "hydration" is a bit silly, but healthy sports allow television networks to make more money so they can make more money!

🚨 Chelsea’s sporting directors feed their work into Behdad Eghbali, who has the final say on signings. Like his Premier League counterparts, Eghbali is described as a fierce negotiator. The intermediaries spoken to by Telegraph Sport say he is tough but fair, while those brought in to head up recruitment are the best in class. 🧐 (@mcgrathmike) #CFC

Some investors never fully supported the takeover, and current struggles are reinforcing those doubts. ❌
