To acquire the desired budget, he moved the film from Warner Bros. to Amazon and United Artists, which is close to $200 million. But Mann isn't concerned about theatrical distribution because he says Amazon is in transition, which means Mann is getting HEAT 2 to stay on the big screen for 45 days. That explains why the studio also purchased Bond. Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale are confirmed to star in HEAT 2. @Shuttlecock I'm generation X. The OT shaped my childhood. I guess the prequels were simply made for the next generation, not mine. There are moments buried in there that appeal to me, but unfortunately they're fleeting. I'll stick with the OT.

The thing is, a whole generation didn’t hate the Star Wars prequels. I was 18 when Phantom Menace came out, saw it opening night with a few friends from student res, and then rewatched it at least three or four times in the theatre over the next month or so. Pretty much everyone saw this movie (and EpII & III). Guys and girls. Nerds and casuals. Many went multiple times (the box office numbers prove this). The merch sold through the roof, every magazine featured cover stories with the cast, most casual fans thought Jar Jar was funny while the Star Wars nerds were obsessed with the tech behind the character. Girls loved Padme’s fashion while straight guys loved Portman. The online fandom was hyperactive with fan theories, fan art, etc with a very clear even split between the male/female demos. Fan and general public reaction was insanely positive. This particular scene became ICONIC. 98% of the negativity came from the professional film critics. TPM wasn’t perfect by any means but the media definitely tried to push the message that it was a disaster, Jake Lloyd sucked, and that Jar Jar was offensive and racist. This weird gaslighting that it was the fans who were negative and toxic is just current media trying to do damage control for just how negative they were at the time.

There is value in being counter trend. 20 years ago it was counter trend to be successful and wear a hoodie when traditional business people wore suits. Now everyone in tech wears a hoodie, you’re not special, you’re just another slob. Now it’s counter trend to dress well. Let’s bring back the Peaky Blinders style.

They wear suits, cuz it looks BADASS and feels good. The hoodie copers think they're so smart and unique for maxxing functionality. This is what a 5’11’ ~200lb genetically-gifted-by-the-gods NFL running back looks like in street clothes. In other words, about the best or “biggest” most ~6’ guys can be naturally. Most of you are chasing a physique that simply doesn’t exist outside of heavy steroid/PED use.

No man looks better bald than with hair. Hell, no man looks better with a buzz cut than with longer hair. A lion's mane that's lush, shiny, and voluminous is a very strong indicator of good health in the eyes of women.

@DA_WooGo I wish they made it more an action/thriller film rather than an action/comedy/family drama. The movie just never worked for me. The Last Action Hero was far better.

Having a great old time revisiting TRUE LIES. Arnold looking Godly on a horse. Tom Arnold a lot funnier than I remembered. Bill fucking Paxton. Also best teaser trailer of all time (which I used to watch on repeat in 1994).
