The pandemic exposed the woeful inadequacy of the previous Gvt’s statutory sick pay provisions. I’m pleased the Minister has agreed to meet with me to discuss the provisions with the employment rights bill to ensure all workers receive proper statutory sick pay 👇

🧵This week I led a debate on a dispute in my constituency between @unitetheunion and @unisontheunion workers and Livv Housing—the largest housing association in Knowsley. Instead of meaningfully engaging with unions, Livv is attacking collective bargaining, offering pay rise only those NOT in a trade union. This has to stop. That’s why I called on the Government to amend the Employment Rights Bill to close what appears to be a loophole.
