I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the dastardly, cowardly and utterly reprehensible attack on our Hon'ble Minister Smt. Shashi Panja. Her home was vandalised and ransacked. Our party workers and supporters were mercilessly beaten. And she herself was physically assaulted, with stones and bricks hurled at her, leaving her injured. A serving Cabinet Minister was attacked in broad daylight by BJP goons emboldened by their Prime Minister's presence in the city. This is not an attack on one woman. This is an attack on every woman of Bengal. Bengal has seen this before. In 2019, from Amit Shah's rally, the bust of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar was vandalised and desecrated. This is BJP’s culture. These BOHIRAGOTO BJP ZAMINDARS want to import their politics of PROVOCATION to Bengal. They want to destroy peace. They want to spread fear. This will neither be forgiven, nor be forgotten. Bengal will not tolerate BJP’s SAFFRON GUNDAGARDI.

Unforeseen floods and landslides have devastated parts of the northern districts of West Bengal, bringing immense suffering and causing severe loss to lives, livelihoods and property. In light of this tragedy, the GoWB has appealed to everyone to contribute to the West Bengal State Disaster Management Authority (WBSDMA) Fund to support immediate rescue, relief and long-term rehabilitation efforts for the affected communities. It is unfortunate and deeply concerning that the Prime Minister of India has chosen to politicise a natural disaster without waiting for a proper investigation, especially while people in North Bengal are grappling with the aftermath of devastating floods and landslides. When the entire local administration and police is engrossed in relief and rescue operations, the BJP leaders chose to go to the affected areas with a large convoy of cars and under security cover of the central forces and that too without any information to local police and administration. How can the state administration , local police or the TMC be blamed for the incident ? The PM has blamed the TMC and the West Bengal Government outright without a shred of verified evidence, legal inquiry, or administrative report. This is not just a political low, it is a breach of the constitutional ethos the Prime Minister has sworn to uphold. In any democracy, the law must take its own course, and only due process can determine culpability - not a tweet from a political pulpit. The incident occurred in a constituency where the people themselves have elected a BJP MLA. Yet the Prime Minister sees no contradiction in painting the incident as a reflection of TMC’s so-called “strongmanship.” Such sweeping, unsubstantiated generalisations are not only immature, but also, they are unbecoming of the highest office in the land. Coming from a Prime Minister who visited Manipur only 964 days after it was engulfed in ethnic violence, the sudden concern for Bengal appears less like empathy and more like opportunistic political theatre. Yes, we all condemn violence, unequivocally. But this is not the time for partisan chest-thumping. This is a time to help and heal. It’s also evident that BJP is resorting to the tired North Bengal vs South Bengal narrative, hoping to polarise people ahead of elections. Let us be clear: Bengal is one - emotionally, culturally, and politically. I urge the Prime Minister: Listen to the elected state government, not just your party colleagues. You are the Prime Minister of India, not just of BJP. Your responsibility lies in nation-building, not narrative-building. At this critical hour, let us not deepen divides. Let us stand united beyond party lines, to serve the people who need us the most. Let’s leave politics for another day.

I condemn the attack today on the Chief Justice of India Justice B R Gavai ji in the Supreme Court premises. This has been a most outrageous thing and effectively an assault on the Constitution of India. I personally respect Justice Gavai and send him my regards from the flood-hit North Bengal where I am camping now. Jai Hind!

Today, the long arm of the law has finally caught up. The Hon'ble Calcutta High Court has held the FRRO (Delhi) detention and deportation order unlawful and directed the immediate repatriation of six people, including the pregnant woman from BIRBHUM, who were labelled “BANGLADESHI MIGRANTS” and expelled. This judgement lays bare a CRUEL and SYSTEMATIC campaign of harassment aimed at Bengalis by the Bangla-Birodhi Zamindars. We will hold the ones responsible to account, in courts, in public debate and at the polls. The people of Bengal will not tolerate XENOPHOBIA, HUMILIATION, or the POLITICS OF EXCLUSION. Come 2026, those who trafficked in fear and persecution will face a decisive verdict from the electorate. Justice has begun to be served. Our resolve to protect the dignity, rights and language of the people of Bengal remains unshaken.

With just 240 MPs, a Govt. on borrowed time is attempting to REWRITE THE CONSTITUTION. Without following procedure, without even placing the Bills before members, BJP is trying to bulldoze democracy with the 130th Constitutional Amendment. This regime has mastered one thing: weaponising its “Double E” machinery. When the Election Commission could not be twisted to their tune, they unleashed the Enforcement Directorate, with an ulterior motive to jail Opposition leaders, topple elected govts, and steal people’s mandate. If corruption was the concern, why did Opposition leaders under probe get instant reprieve after joining BJP’s WASHING MACHINE? This Bill is not about cleansing politics, it’s about CLEANSING OPPOSITION. What we have today is a Govt. that wants to sell the soul of India, tear apart our Constitution, and hand over our beloved country to INEFFICIENT, POWER-HUNGRY TYRANTS to be run like their private estate. This is DICTATORSHIP in broad daylight. This is a SUPER EMERGENCY. But India will not bend, Bengal will not bow. We will fight, we will resist, and we will protect the India envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. BR Ambedkar, not the India hijacked by PM Modi and HM Amit Shah.

The Union Government, despite having the support of the Opposition parties and the entire nation, still lacks the courage to reclaim PoJK. It beats its chest with hollow rhetoric, but when it comes to defending India’s sovereignty, protecting our borders and acting firmly against our enemies, it shows no real resolve. Instead of fulfilling its constitutional responsibility, this government is solely interested in amassing POWER, WEALTH AND CONTROL WITHOUT ANY ACCOUNTABILITY. We strongly condemn this authoritarian attitude and oppose the introduction of this DRACONIAN CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT BILL. The Government of India, instead of providing relief to the people and working for the genuine development of farmers, workers and the poor, has completely failed to uphold its duty of safeguarding the sovereignty of the nation. Having failed in its attempt to misuse the EC to implement SIR, the government has now activated another “E” — ED - to bring in laws that target opposition leaders, crush democracy and manipulate the people’s mandate by toppling State Govts. This government has proven itself to be anti-people, anti-farmer, anti-poor, anti-SC, anti-ST, anti-OBC, anti FEDERAL and above all ANTI INDIA. One vote to the BJP is nothing less than SELLING THE SOUL OF INDIA. It is selling the Constitution of our country and allowing INDIA to be run as private property in the hands of INCOMPETENT OBSESSIVE TYRANTS! The INDIA built on the ideals of GANDHI and AMBEDKAR will not surrender its soul to dictators and power-hungry rulers.

The EC has stated that the voter lists across various states on the basis of which the GENERAL ELECTIONS were held barely a year ago in 2024 are FAULTY and riddled with IRREGULARITIES. If that is indeed the case, and if the GoI agrees with the EC’s assessment, then the first step towards conducting a genuine SIR and STANDING ON MORAL HIGH GROUND is the IMMEDIATE DISSOLUTION OF LOK SABHA. If one truly supports the idea of SIR, then as per the EC’s own statement - THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY HAVE BEEN BETRAYED. For months now, Bengali-speaking people have been targeted, harassed and detained across BJP-ruled states. Now, in a shocking escalation, @DelhiPolice has officially referred to Bangla, as a “Bangladeshi language” in an official letter. This is not a mere clerical error, It is yet another CALCULATED ATTEMPT by the BJP to defame Bengal, undermine our cultural identity and equate West Bengal with Bangladesh for narrow political propaganda. It is a direct violation of Article 343 and the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. There is no language called “Bangladeshi.” To call Bangla a foreign language is not just an insult- It’s an attack on our identity, culture and belonging. Bengalis are not outsiders in their own homeland. This is why we call the BJP BANGLA BIRODHI and ZAMINDAR. They do not respect India’s diversity. They thrive on division. We demand the immediate suspension of Investigating Officer Amit Dutt and a formal public apology from @DelhiPolice, @BJP4India, and the Home Ministry led by @AmitShah. BANGLA AND BENGALIS ARE INDIAN. Bangla is our pride. We will not allow our identity to be trampled.
