@kate_stockings @GeoCurriculum I think it’s the clarity but also it’s not written in a linear way so there’s masses of duplication. You end up having to rewrite it to get a sensible programme. Obviously as teachers this can be a good thing….

@GeoCurriculum Any tips and tricks?! I just find the lack of clarity in the spec mind-blowing, the repetition is ridiculous & the question style of AQA is another level of difficulty compared to Edexcel 😭

Been teaching 10 years and honestly, I think teaching AQA A-Level Changing Places for the 1st time is the hardest thing I've done in that time. Who on earth chooses this spec out of choice?! Enough to be a deal-breaker when next moving schools, I tell ya🤯😵‍💫😫

@kate_stockings That’s why we’ve gone to OCR which we taught in my old school. AQA is all over the place

@_jopayne Weather that at this time of year is so varied - frozen waterfalls my first year and short sleeves two years later. Everything in between since - some snow last year

Well, with Reykjavík experiencing its heaviest October snowfall since 1921, our Iceland trip didn’t go quite as planned! The pupils loved playing in the snow, though. It’s a story they’ll tell for many years to come.

@hb_history I only mark my A Level geography paper (I’m also a team leader) as the marking overlaps into the holidays. The exam date has gradually moved forward which is a problem, though moving private a couple of years ago does get me a little more holiday marking time fortunately

Experiences of exam marking this year continue to be beyond awful. Middle and senior leaders will need to brace themselves for a record number of reviews of marking, because the standard is going to be shocking

If you're a geography teacher coming to @The_GA conference & have been reading the discussion on subject knowledge, come along to @DoctorPreece & my session. We'll show how the books we're writing support the development of substantive & disciplinary understanding in Geography.

From geographer Theresa May: "There are very few geography professors in the US. It’s so annoying because it’s such a good subject. It gives you a great grounding in so many different aspects of the world and life.” #GACONF25 @SteveBraceGeog @MrBNewborn @Beal1957 @fiona_616
