I would like the record to show that I enjoy working with 98% of my clients, you're just not going to see much of it on here because "I had a client call today and it went fine" just doesn't make for good Twitter

I swear there is some cosmic force that causes clients to reach out for a status update as soon as they hit the top five of your to-do list

In Outlook, click File, then Options (at the bottom). On the left bar, select "Mail", and then "Spelling and AutoCorrect" button on the right, then "AutoCorrect Options..." And while you're there, make sure to remove HSA correcting to HAS :)

Little hack tax pros should know: Office will let you put anything in autocorrect, so I use little phrases that auto correct to commonly used links A couple examples I use: "tdlink" inserts my client portal address, and "irspmt" inserts the IRS payment page

@RichardTakai @engineeringolf Love it. Also, if you play the same course a lot, play rounds from different sets of tees, including the forward tees. Shortening a hole will almost always make you think harder about tee shot placement

@ArthurJSpring @engineeringolf That is my goal. Also, by using a vintage driver, I believe it will help my course management by reducing risky tee shots I would normally take on with a modern frying pan.

@RichardTakai @engineeringolf When I was playing almost every day I used to do a half set round once or twice a week and was initially shocked that I was shooting about the same score. But it definitely improves your overall game because it forces you to think and hit more creative shots

Very interesting. I plan to play a significant number of rounds this year with a retro half-set and compare scores with a full complement. I have a theory that my index will go down because I will be less tempted to hit unreasonable shots that are possible with more forgiving equipment. This might be offset by having 4 fewer clubs in the bag, but OTOH, I might become a better player by needing to hit more partial shots. First round of the year was yesterday. Only 9 holes, but 7 GIRs. Four over because of truly horrific putting. 🤦🏻‍♂️

@CPowers14 My dad and I have a lot of golf memories at all types of courses, but my favorite times have been the simple rounds on the places with ads on the scorecards

@CPA2Solutions Most of my clients are subscription-billed and I keep fairly diligent notes for when the contracts renew. No notes means either no increase or a COL increase, notes like "never turns in everything the first time" guarantees a healthy bump on renewal

Re-do the invoice when you re-do the return. Thats what I do for those clients which seem to have this problem every year. Otherwise they half ass submitting documents either knowing you'll catch what is missing or they catch it in review. I let the diligent clients slide when otherwise they are spot on with doc delivery... Its the habitual who pay for it.

Not sure what it is about having to rework returns, but clients sending docs after I send them a "finished" return makes me irrationally angry

@Micha_Siegel I'm warming to the idea of charging for it. Kind of like my paper doc fee, it's less about raising revenue than putting clients on notice that they are costing me time in a very avoidable way

@ArthurJSpring It's not irrational, it's one of the most annoying things. It's kills the flow and there's no way to correct for it usually.

On the other hand, sometimes telling a lender he has no idea what he's talking about and cc'ing the client is just the dopamine hit you need on these long busy season days

As a bonus, the question doesn't even have to be valid. Ask for Form 8582 on a nonpassive loss, ask for Form 8825 on a 1040, who cares? No one knows the difference right?

@doglegpar3 Also if you're not capable of hitting an 80% shot to fill that gap, you're probably not good enough that the stock distances are meaningful anyway

@doglegpar3 If no club in your bag is the correct distance to land on the green, your irons are either gapped wildly incorrectly or you're playing the shallowest greens on earth
