The US AF claims it was stuck, meaning it landed and was too deep in the mud/sand … or, of course, it could have been damaged by anti-aircraft fire to the extent that it could not take off anymore. But it was not destroyed during a crash.

Our downed pilot is still out there. Thinking of that today a great deal. Went to the range, took a walk, lots of chores, adult kids are all home visiting, so a good day in Virginia, I have no complaints....but I can't get this pilot out of my head....and thankful and grateful to the enormous military and IC CSAR enterprise that is working to effect the return. 🇺🇸
