@NotAvgLiberal Yes, they hate the man that OVERWHELMINGLY won the last election. Just like conservatives hate the man who could not possibly have won 2020 and didn't even know whether he did or not. He was just a puppet. At least we have someone who cares about the US.

@HenryFrank02 That's what the appeal process is for, though it's shame that worthless SOB is wasting so much taxpayer money, just by trying to obstruct.

🚨 BREAKING: US Attorney Jeanine Pirro just announced activist Judge Boasberg has BLOCKED a Grand Jury from investigating the Federal Reserve Pirro says this block is TOTALLY ILLEGAL. THE HOUSE NEEDS TO START IMPEACHING THESE ACTIVIST JUDGES. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! "As a result, Jerome Powell today is now bathed in IMMUNITY preventing my office from investigating the federal reserve. This is wrong, and it is WITHOUT legal authority."

My advice to Vance: Announce your support of 25th amendment transition. Say Chris Murphy or similar will be veep. Announce you will NOT be a candidate in 2028. Use your position, access to the media to explain why this is necessary. Don't resign.

The move here is best described as: extracting the most extreme claim and making it the whole story. Blumenthal's tweet escalated from "aggravating delays" to "shooting and killing" and Sortor skips the first six claims to quote only the last one, because that's the one that makes a senator sound unhinged. "This rhetoric is meant to TERRORIZE innocent Americans" takes a reckless prediction and reframes it as deliberate psychological warfare, which is the same escalation technique Blumenthal used just pointed in the opposite direction. "You're a sick, evil POS" is the landing pad. The audience arrives at a moral verdict without ever evaluating whether any of Blumenthal's earlier, more plausible concerns about ICE at airports deserved attention. It works because isolating someone's worst sentence lets you disqualify everything else they said, and once the audience has seen "shooting and killing" the legitimate questions about jurisdiction and civil liberties disappear behind the outrage

@nicksortor Yep, my first thought was about that stupid Bernie Sanders and how he would react to this. Anything less than total capitulation to the fact he is wrong - is not enough.

🔥 WHAT A LEGEND! Elon Musk says he’s willing to PERSONALLY pay the salaries of TSA agents while the Democrat shutdown drags on I had a feeling he’d do something like this. But I’m sure it won’t be enough for Bernie Sanders to stop ranting about him 🤣 Thank you, Elon! 🇺🇸

This is incredibly generous. TSA agents across the country are relying on food pantries and community donations just to get by. I remain the lone Dem to vote with my Republican colleagues to fully fund DHS and get people paid. It should never come to this point.

I would like to offer to pay the salaries of TSA personnel during this funding impasse that is negatively affecting the lives of so many Americans at airports throughout the country

Don’t embarrass yourself, Jane. Leave yourself some dignity, please. You could have been a beauty guru and a great actress, even the activist for climate change, which I all admired, but you chose to stand on the wrong side of history and ignored the cries of the Iranian people dying for their freedom. And yet you defend the evil regime?

@caringguy1957 @WhiteHouse So you are telling me that the old ballroom cost the taxpayers nothing in upkeep, staff, maintenance, etc. etc. How stupid do you think we are? Oh, you have TDS, so that means YOU are the one with stupid....

Sure MAGA will believe this nonsense but those of us who actually understand how things work, not so much. The claim that this has “zero cost to taxpayers” is a lie. I know I am shocked as well. Even if private donors covered every dollar of physical construction, which itself would require extraordinary transparency to verify, taxpayers still absorb the long term financial burden that follows any permanent structural change to the White House complex. The building is not a private property, it is a heavily secured federal facility with unique operational requirements, and every modification creates ongoing public expenses. Security costs alone will be substantial and permanent. Any new event space changes Secret Service protection plans, physical security systems, screening infrastructure, staffing needs, surveillance coverage, and emergency response protocols. Those costs are federal, recurring, and funded by taxpayers, not donors. Operational and maintenance costs will also rise indefinitely. Climate control, utilities, custodial services, preservation work, repairs, staffing, and upgrades never end for a facility like the White House. Larger footprint means larger annual appropriations. No donor fund magically pays federal maintenance budgets year after year. There are also infrastructure and engineering implications that trigger public spending. Structural integration, communications systems, hardened construction standards, accessibility compliance, fire protection, and continuity of government requirements all involve federal agencies and federal dollars. Those obligations exist regardless of who writes the initial construction check. Event driven expenses will expand as well. A ballroom is not decorative, it is a functional venue. Every event involves security coordination, logistics, staffing, transportation control, and local law enforcement support. Those are public costs that repeat continuously over decades. Then there is the basic reality of federal budgeting. The White House is maintained through congressionally appropriated funds. Any addition increases lifecycle costs that flow through future budgets. Claiming “zero cost to taxpayers” ignores how government facilities actually work. We don't care whether ballrooms are aesthetically pleasing, it is about whether public resources, security priorities, and federal funds should be indirectly committed to support something marketed as “free.” Construction funding is only one tiny slice of the true cost of any federal facility. And @realDonaldTrump is the only one that cares about this ballroom.
