The future of Legal AI.

Spellbook was not a bet on AI. It was a bet that legal was one of the last uncracked nuts in software. We started in 2018, long before GPT3. An enormous amount of potential energy had been built up behind a dam: lawyers and clients desperately wanted more efficiency. If you are looking for cracked nuts, you are always going to show up late to the party with a herd of others. The best decision we ever made at Spellbook was to go after an uncracked nut early. That was the magic.

Restaurants shouldn't have to choose between great service and operational efficiency. That's the problem we're solving at Slang. Today we're announcing our $36M Series B to keep building the AI-powered communications platform the hospitality industry has been waiting for. We call it a "Super Host." One day, every restaurant will have an AI team member that works alongside existing staff to drive better experiences and capture more revenue. Slang AI is that platform. Thank you to our clients, our investors, and especially the Slang team — you make this possible every day. If this mission excites you, we're hiring. @USVP_ @homebrew @Wing_VC @CollideCapital @activecapitalvc @UnderscoreVC @Stage2Capital

Introducing Compare to Market, one of the biggest things we've ever launched in @SpellbookLegal. A lot of contract negotiation still happens in the dark. Opinions. Anecdotes. “This feels market.” For decades, lawyers have had to rely on experience and intuition to judge whether a term is standard. But markets move, and memory doesn’t scale. With Compare to Market, Spellbook lets you see how a contract stacks up against similar agreements in realtime. And unlike previous AI tools, you can actually inspect the stats backing the insights. You'll soon be able to filter by geography, or industry rather than relying on AI that has been trained on "everything". Lawyers are getting sick of "AI slop": AI outputs that look reasonable at first glance, but that aren't really grounded by anything. This is just one more step in our mission to build the most trustworthy, data-backed AI contract review tool.

The forward-thinking IP brands and media companies will see this and open up their character catalogs to Sora asap - or they'll resist and new IP will be created for the platform. Massive free marketing tailwind and fan loyalty that will expire by the time it becomes "worth it"
