@BillWiIdin Renting a house equivalent to mine would be substantially more than my mortgage payments. So are you suggesting I pay someone else's mortgage rather than owning an appreciating asset. And no I can't rent cheaper, I have 5 kids.

Renting is actually a smarter financial move than buying a house in 2026. But most of you are just emotionally attached to a 30-year debt trap.

@DrEliDavid South Korea isn't capitalist. It's pretty well regulated with welfare programs that take care of the people. Plus it's artificially funded by the US and a democracy. North Korea is very capitalist and isolated. With the head of the state acting like a CEO of a business.

@Braytown @TheSalesBull1 So that’s a 24 yo most likely implies she does have experience. 18 yo with no experience was the post

The Sales Bull 🎯 Follow if you sell B2C or B2B
An 18 year old with no A-levels can walk into a B2B sales role and earn £45,000 within 18 months or less Nobody at school will tell him this The teachers don’t believe it The university system doesn’t want him to know THREAD

@whathellie5G @TheSalesBull1 23 years in sales here... I just hired a 24 year old with no previous experience as a SDR. That's the entry level job. She's fantastic and will likely be promoted to Jr AE in 6 months. Smart with the right attitude and drive is all I need to see.

@TheSalesBull1 Stop lying. No company will hire someone who’s 18 with no A-Levels in a B2B sales position. The only option is if they’re very talented and outgoing already with the right connections (although it’s very rare as -8yo don’t have enough life experience)

Brentford came to Old Trafford and dominated. Leeds came to Old Trafford and dominated. Fulham came to Old Trafford and dominated. Crystal Palace with 11 men came to Old Trafford and dominated. If you can’t see a problem with this then that’s on you. Some of us can.

If any fan is happy with the current state of Manchester United then I’m not sure they want us to be successful again. We haven’t challenged for the title in 13 years or made the semifinal of the CL for 15 years. Celebrating winning some dead rubbers while our rivals clear up 🤮
O G@OGtalksfootball

People are acting like Brentford didn’t come off the back of a 6 game unbeaten run and Carrick now has 9 wins in 13 Man United fans don’t like being happy. They just wanna be the victims and complain about something or another

🚨 Gerard Piqué on the Pep vs Sir Alex debate: “I get asked this question all the time, and my answer usually surprises a lot of people (laughs). Pep is an incredible tactician and a brilliant man-manager, truly one of a kind. But Sir Alex… he was the complete package. He could completely change the course of a game in a single moment. I only played under him for a short time, but it’s an experience I’ll never forget.”

She grew up in Stockport, left school at 16 pregnant, worked as a carer, became a union organiser and rose to be Deputy Prime Minister. She is the bookmakers' 6/4 favourite to be the next Labour leader. She is ferociously effective at PMQs, has genuine roots in working-class communities, and connects with voters that Starmer visibly struggles with. Is she the future Labour needs?

🚨Lewis Hamilton demands Africans kick Europeans out of Africa — but labels “Britain for the British” pure racism. Africa for Africans = totally fine. Europe for Europeans = never. The double standard couldn’t be clearer.

@mert Yep. Life became too easy. The generation after millennials is too far detached from the war generations. They don't understand how hard things can get and how little anyone will care about their gender or what they prefer to eat if the shit were to hit the fan.

think there's a good argument that the rise of socialism in the west is directly linked to the population increasingly getting lazier due to the higher default standard of living provided by capitalism

@TheCinesthetic Simplistic view. Sounds great in theory. In practice you have globalists who game the system and only care about power & control. Capitalism prevents that but we need a blend of both in a well functioning society. More importantly, those collecting tax need to be held accountable

Stellan Skarsgård reflects on his worldview : "My father told me something when I was very small to instill confidence in me: 'Nobody in the world is worth more than you, but nobody’s worth less.' It is an egalitarian view that I’ve carried around in my life. That’s why I am for free schools, free universities, free health care, and free babysitting. Because our society could afford it" "In America, people think social democracy is some kind of communism. They think capitalism is freedom. It’s not. It’s only freedom to exploit people" (via @vulture)

We’re strange in the UK 🇬🇧 We just won’t talk money 🤐 I’d already discovered investing when I found out my Dad had an investment portfolio. He’d never mentioned it. No education for me from my Dad so I started late at 30. I’ll be showing my daughter her investment portfolio and teach her as she grows up. It’s all about knowledge. Was anyone else’s parents secretive about money? 💰

The British Government has just banned smoking. In 2050, a 42 year-old will be able to buy cigarettes but a 41 year-old won’t. Legally, at least. I’m on @LBC now with @TomSwarbrick1!

🚨UK army could use 'emergency powers' to enforce conscription. The army is certainly too small to train the number of recruits required, thanks to underfunding from successive governments. Also, ECHR rules do not discriminate between male and female. Wouldn't that mean conscription would be forced upon both women and men? Our Armed Forces needs a radical revamp and extra funding, not conscripts!
