@olalakesi Interesting point of view - haven't thought about it precisely like that before.

Take the risk. Not for the win. Not even the feeling of winning. But for the loss. For the feeling of a loss. Losses suck. But you learn from them. They motivate you. They give you a stronger foundation. So take risks. Stack losses. Start winning. Then never stop.

@BuildingJames_ Most men avoid the loss. That's exactly why they never find out what they're made of.

@BuildingJames_ Lose voluntarily. Or life will make you lose. In your own best interest but still.

You must be constantly setting new baselines. My Old Baselines = Not smoking weed until the evening, not spending over €50 on takeout per week, just pass my uni exams, etc. My New Baselines = Train 4x per week, train over 30 PT clients per week, eat 90% clean, learn everyday, etc. Now my off days are better than my on days back then. Raise your standards until your baseline days are better than most people's peak days.

You need to be constantly vigilant that you are going the direction you want in life. Very easy to start drifting towards something you think you want but deep down don't actually want. Or worse, you start veering off course completely and start becoming someone you never wanted to be. Keep tabs on yourself and make sure the direction you are going is the right one for you.

People who quit their phone addiction, what was the one small daily habit that actually changed everything for you?

@OptiMindInsight Not particularly, mostly I just constantly remind myself: 1. What do you truly want (honesty and feeling)? 2. Are you working towards those things? 3. Are you enjoying the process? Those questions asked regularly set me up for making the right choices.

@BuildingJames_ True! Do you have a framework for knowing what direction to work towards, and to keep track of it?

@tizianx444 Great point. But for me I was thinking more do not let familiarity keep you in the filth. Choose your circle wisely.

@BuildingJames_ Especially be careful with the people you hang out with. Do not let novelty drag you into filth.

Another day, another PR. 150KG deadlift. Easy for some of you tanks on here - don't care, I'm happy with my lift. Note: So much of setting a PR is psychological. If you think you can't do it, you won't. If you think you can do it, you will. Be smart. Believe in yourself.

@conor_lm So true. Enough of these broken promises and you stop even trying because "I've already given up on so many things, why would this be any different?" And once that happens you are effectively dead.

Nobody talks about this but every broken promise to yourself chips away at your identity. You said you'd wake up early. You didn't. You said you'd finish that project. You didn't. You said you'd post consistently. You didn't. None of these are big failures. But your brain logs every single one. And over time you become someone who doesn't trust their own word. The way back is simple. Pick one small thing today and finish it. Then do it again tomorrow. That's how you rebuild.
