One of the arguments I made for why Burnham appears to have more potential than Starmer is that he has stronger public relations skills and is seen as more empathetic, approachable, and authentic. This is a good example of that. Moreover, certainly, things like this are also beneficial in the effort to win over young voters, who are one of the pillars of the British left's success.

@bmay I find it massively refreshing. Trump, like him or loathe him (I am very much in the latter camp), demonstrates the power of direct, unvarnished social media comms. Burnham is clearly much better at it than Starmer.

Expect this sort of thing will start to irritate people fairly quickly.
