@BarrowAFC Releasing Foles, McDonald and Canavan before a season in the National League is absolutely baffling...

@Adam_Johno85 A few very strange decisions there. I would have thought a core four of MJ, Foles, Naz and Angus were just what was needed for a National League rebuild? Absolutely baffling.
English

Not much in terms of surprises
Very sad how it has ended for both Niall Canavan and Sam Foley, two people who looking beyond last season were two of the clubs best signings as an EFL Club.

@CraigRudders I wholeheartedly agree. I'm fearing for this World Cup and all the new guff already.
English

@ChallengeFaz I think people are that fed up with VAR now, they’d probably accept the on field mistakes from officials more
English

@CraigRudders I mean, as much as I hate it, is there a VAR equivalent or a potential retrospective process to look at?
English

@ChallengeFaz Players are now more interested in conning the ref rather than actually controlling the ball.
On the flip side when they are fouled, and stay on their feet they are punished for being honest. Really tough one to sort
English

@CraigRudders Surely the powers at be need to look at the simulation argument too.. so much talk about 'natural positioning' in every other area. You get brushed and go down like you've been shot... it's just.. I dunno.. shit? 😂
English

@ChallengeFaz Huge simulation. Thought his game was over either way he rolled around 😂
English

@GabSutton Absolutely spot on. The fans can see it, the media can see it... just seems the majority of the management and ownership are operating with blinkers on. Can't help for feel for Sam Foley.. stepped in to help out after seeing a ship sink from the sidelines all season.

Enormous rethink needed at Holker Street this summer.
Because, bar a handful of exceptions, I think everyone connected with the footballing side at Barrow this season should be - and I hesitate to use this word because I appreciate it’s not pleasant - a little bit embarrassed.
I’ve watched them live enough times to know they haven’t built a team that represents Barrovians: in fact, these are the opposite.
Weak. Passive. They regularly lose not just 50/50s but 90/10s because they’re slow to react. They don’t look fit enough, yet more so mentally fragile.
Body language horrendous. Light jogging in high-stakes moments.
Fans who dig deep for season tickets - and deeper still to travel the country watching them in an economically challenged area - don’t deserve to watch their team roll out the red carpet for the opposition when they’re in the final third over and over again.
Stephen Clemence, Andy Whing, Neil McDonald, Dino Maamria and now Sam Foley have all struggled over the last two years, largely as a result of poor recruitment, on a lower midtable budget.
Time to look further up. For starters, I don’t think Iain Wood - though by no means the only culprit - being entrusted with a rebuild in the National League as Sporting Director can be tenable.
Hate to point fingers, but sometimes we have to call out what’s blatantly unacceptable.

@DAZN_NationalLg @DAZNFootball @NL_Enterprise Missed a massive trick not making this one free to air

@AtTheRaces The absolute fucking fear that horse suffered in their last moments is unforgivable. Anyone involved should be brought up. Disgusting.

The Stewards report from the Mildmay Novices' Chase, where Gold Dancer suffered a fatal injury...
"Townend explained that Gold Dancer had made a bad mistake at the last fence after which it had taken a stride or two for the gelding to gather himself before, in his opinion, running on in a straight line to the winning line where Gold Dancer felt sound... (1/3)

@CAF_Media What an absolute circus. Making the confederation look a joke to the rest of the world.

📰 Valérien Ismaël has today left his position as Blackburn Rovers’ Head Coach by mutual consent.
Ismaël joined the club in February 2025, however it has been mutually agreed that he will step away from his role with immediate effect, along with Assistant Head Coach Dean Whitehead.
Blackburn Rovers would like to thank Valérien and Dean for their efforts during their time at the club and wish them both the very best for the future.
The club will now begin the process of appointing a new Head Coach and will make no further comment until an appointment is confirmed.
