@CoachBuiltLeadR Yeah, it feels like progress at the time. Then you see the cost later.

When my wife and I were younger, we thought buying new vehicles meant we were doing well. So we financed them. Nice cars. Nice payments too. Looking back that probably slowed us down more than anything. Took us a while to realize that. Anyone else learn this the hard way?

"Stop using your ROTH IRA, what if you need the money before 59.5" I see this on twitter all the time Mostly from people preaching real estate or permanent life insurance The truth is you can pull your contributions from your ROTH IRA at any time Just not the growth

It's so much easier to stomach market volatility when you are a long-term investor. You're not panicking. You're not gambling. You're just a long-term investor doing exactly what you're supposed to do. Nothing.

@SammyLau Well said. I chalk it up to experience for sure. Now I take what I've learned over the years and pass it to my kids and those I coach/mentor.

@CoachBuiltLeadR All lessons we have to learn. Things where we realized we were trying to impress someone other than ourselves. To no one's gain. Usually, no one's looking at all. All part of maturing!

@TKopelman One of the challenges I have for the gap fund is what to buy. Do I stick with growth, dividend heavy, a mix.... I go back and forth on this one.

Do you think getting ahead financially is more about habits or income?

@TKopelman @detwiler_lucy I see what you're saying...even though not advised to pull out contributions, I at least know there is a sum of money in my Roth accounts if needed before 59.5. Again, hence why I'm building a gap account.

@detwiler_lucy No one but people avoid it because of lack of liquidity which is just dumb when you have that liquidity

Waiting for “peace” to buy stocks is a poverty mindset. You make your life changing money when things look the most uncertain. Agree or Disagree?

@SharestepAI @NotA_Bull I am a big fan of DCA regardless of what the market is doing.

@NotA_Bull Yes. Buy stocks when there are good, well-valued companies available, and when you have cash that will otherwise lose value to inflation.
